Artist in Residency

Artist in Residency at Space SBH This summer Space SBH begins its artist in residency program with Christian Fagerlund taking the inaugural spot. Christian will be painting in the gallery and around the island until early July – a talented artist you can stop by and watch him at work and see what he creates while on island.

Christian is available for commissioned work including landscapes and portraits.

Christian Fagerlund was born in Ann Arbor, Michigan. He currently teaches at the University of North Texas as Senior Lecturer of Figure Drawing and Painting, He received his BA from the University of California – Santa Barbara in 1994 and his MFA from the New York Academy of Art in 2004, where he received the NYAA Postgraduate Fellowship.

Light is an equal participant in my drawings and paintings: a clear and assertive entity.
