CRADLE design Neri&Hu

Cradle family, a system composed by an armchair, a sofa and a small table. Their characteristic is based on the structure: a classic triangular construction, that is repeated several times around the models, so that you can admire it from each point of view.

La famiglia Cradle, un sistema composto da poltrona, divano e tavolino. La loro caratteristica è basata sulla struttura: una costruzione classica triangolare, che si ripete piÚ volte intorno ai prodotti, cosÏ da permettere di essere apprezzata da ogni punto di vista.

The cow-hide strap that rolls up around the rigid frame covered by fabric, which holds soft cushions, is fixed between the steel structure of the feet, creating in this way a cradle, that gives harmony with the contrasts of the materials.

La cintura in cuoio, che avvolge il guscio rigido rivestito in tessuto contenente morbidi cuscini, si fissa tra le strutture in acciaio dei piedini, formando cosi una culla, che dona armonia nei contrasti dei materiali.

Generous proportions and a friendly, soft, but still very architectural geometry defines the Tokio sofa collection. Even though the different volumes of the sofa are clearly defined, they are still softly sculpted and without any sharp corners. The sofa is raised just over the floor plane giving it a floating appearance.

Proporzioni generose e una geometria amichevole, morbida e allo stesso tempo molto architettonica : questo è ciò che definisce il sistema di sedute Tokio. Nonostante i diversi volumi del divano siano ben definiti, sono comunque scolpiti con morbidezza e senza nessun angolo acuto. Il divano è appena sollevato da terra, conferendogli un’apparenza fluttuante.

The mathematical symbol of eternity is a figure that resembles a horizontal figure 8. The analogy is of course that if you follow the line it will take you eternity to arrive at its end. But this is of course true of all loops, in any shape or form.

Il simbolo matematico dell’eternità è una figura che assomiglia alla forma orizzontale dell’8. L’analogia è ovviamente che se si segue la linea, ci vorrà tutta l’eternità per arrivare alla sua fine. Ma questo naturalmente è vero per tutti i circuiti ad anello, di qualsiasi forma o figura essi siano.

Tellin lounge chair has the elegant appearance of a welcoming open seashell. Two “valves” meet and merge by overlapping so to compose the seat and backrest, an encounter that marks the juxtaposition of the different colours of the upholstery.

La poltrona Tellin ha l’aspetto elegante di un’accogliente conchiglia aperta. Due “valve” si incontrano e si uniscono sovrapponendosi per comporre il sedile e lo schienale, un incontro che segna la combinazione dei diversi colori del rivestimento.
