01 INTRODUCTION

BY MANAGING DIRECTOR OF HOUSING IAN MITCHELL

This report outlines the valuable work that we do to support our customers, colleagues and the communities we proudly serve.

As part of the Regulator of Social Housing’s Value for Money Standard, we measure the social value generated using the HACT (Housing Associations Charitable Trust) UK Social Value Bank, a tool that quantifies the positive impact of the services we deliver.

In 2024/25 we generated over £558 K in social value. Through a collaborative approach with Group members (The Sovini Group – parent company), partner agencies and local organisations, we worked towards a vision, of a better future.

02 A YEAR AT A GLANCE

In 2024/25, we created a combined total of £558,063 in social value.

• Every £1 spent generated £15 in social value

• £1.2M invested into improving our homes

• 207 new career opportunities created as part of The Sovini Group

• 39 traditional apprentices joined the Group

• 14 social value projects delivered

• £1.1K of decoration paint packs given to customers

• 94 colleagues undertaking traditional and non-traditional apprenticeships across The Sovini Group

• £10,000 donated to local projects through our Community Development Fund

03 SOCIAL IMPACT

Our approach to social impact aims to further support stakeholders whilst generating a positive economic and environmental contribution. In 2024/25, we delivered 14 social value projects across our communities, including:

COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT PROJECTS:

Our Community Development Fund provides support for projects that will directly benefit our communities, focusing on five key themes: vulnerable persons, health, veterans, safety and environmental initiatives. These include:

• Pagoda Arts Community Support, generating £50.5K in social value.

• Chung Hok House Resident Activities. These free activities for independent living customers generated

BIG COMMUNITY CHRISTMAS:

Over 8,000 people received crucial support during the festive season, with community partners and The Sovini Group, collaborating to deliver a range of community-focused initiatives.

From the delivery of Christmas support packages to dozens community partners; containing a mixture of food, care and household items, to the sponsorship of 15 events that support vulnerable customers.

04 ECONOMIC IMPACT

We’re passionate about developing the local economy, and support this by investing in local talent, businesses and career initiatives. We believe in creating meaningful employment, in an equal and inclusive workplace.

This year, we welcomed 207 new employees as part of The Sovini Group, joining our present cohort of over 800 colleagues who work in collaboration, with a shared purpose.

Our award-winning apprenticeship programme continued to thrive, proudly supporting 39 traditional apprentices across the Group in a diverse range of roles, from housing management and business administration to electrical installation and joinery.

Additionally, we procure services from like-minded organisations who commit to environmental and social wellbeing. Where possible, we source local services and products and work with SMEs to improve the local economy, with almost twothirds of our external spend within the North West in 2024/25. Our commitment to working with local organisations, further supports our environmental, Net-Zero Carbon Commitment.

05 ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT

As part of The Sovini Group, we are working towards achieving net-zero carbon emissions. This pledge guides our operations and how we manage our homes.

Since 2021/22, we have reduced our carbon footprint by 71.49% We are also working towards achieving the United Nation’s 2030 Global Goals for Sustainable Development, including:

• No Poverty: We provide customers with access to comprehensive financial support

• Good Health and Wellbeing: We prioritise the physical, mental, social and financial health of our customers, and have developed a range of initiatives designed to improve their wellbeing

• Sustainable Cities and Communities: We create thriving, sustainable and inclusive neighbourhoods where our customers are proud to live

• Partnerships for the Goals: Our strategic partnerships with local authorities and organisations, such as Sefton Council, Merseyside Police and Homes England, support us in delivering sustainable communities

• Energy Efficiency: A commitment to achieving an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) band C or above, for all homes by 2030

06 OUR SOCIAL VALUE STATEMENT

We believe that every pound spent should positively impact our communities, following the Public Services Social Value Act 2013 framework.

We comply with the UK Government’s ‘Social Model’ policy themes.
