For our first community fundraiser of the year, we've decided to team up with NOMADA and support our furry little friends and the brave folks who protect them at the SIBU Wildlife Sanctuary Founder, Vicki Coan, has been in Costa Rica for over 20 years and has built a 50 acre jungle preserve dedicated to saving local wildlife in the growing Nosara area.

One of the unfortunate impacts caused by developing human habitats in rural destinations is the amount of clear cutting done to create construction space for new homes With development comes infrastructure like electricity poles that often electrocute the howler monkeys in the area It is a sad occurrence that happens all too often and warrants our full attention to care for these displaced and marginalized neighbors. Fortunately, SIBU not only offers a safe sanctuary for life long rehabilitation, they also facilitate educational programs, and build 'monkey bridges' to create safer travel routes for all our local tree swingers
That's why we at DSJ are committed to advocating for initiatives just like SIBU's so we can learn to coexist in harmony with All Our Relations throughout our project design and construction phase by building on a foundation of principles that champion both wildlife protection and environmental conservation.
