ANNUAL RE PORT 2023-24

2023-24 Year in Review

Dear Southside Church Family,

It is with great joy and gratitude that I present to you the annual report for the fiscal year April 2023 to March 2024. This past year has been a remarkable testament to God’s faithfulness and the unwavering commitment of our church family of families to fulfill the Great Commission.

Spiritual Growth and Impact

The numbers speak volumes about the transformative work God has done in our midst:

y 364 individuals made the life-changing decision to accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.

y 80 individuals publicly declared their faith through the sacred act of baptism.

y 42 individuals experienced the sanctifying power of the Holy Spirit, deepening their walk with Christ.

These statistics are not mere numbers; they represent lives forever changed by the love and grace of our Heavenly Father.

Attendance and Engagement

Southside Church has experienced a remarkable influx of attendees, both in-person and online.

y 819 individuals gathered, on average, in-person to worship and fellowship together.

y 293 individuals joining virtually, on average, in our Online Campus, expanding our reach beyond physical boundaries.

y On average, a total of 1,112 individuals were part of the vibrant Southside Church community of faith this past year.

Moreover, 25% of our attendees actively serve by giving their time and talents, demonstrating their commitment to honor the Lord and one another.

Discipleship and Community Outreach

Southside Church has been a beacon of hope and a catalyst for positive change in our community. Our ministries have impacted lives in profound ways:

y Our Southside Church Food Pantry at the Chester Compassionate Ministry Center has provided nourishment and support to more than 150 families weekly.

y Our outreach efforts in Mosby Court, the Women’s Community Corrections Alternative Program, and Guardian Christian Academy impact more than 2,000 people in our community weekly.

y Our XZone Arts and Recreation program, Footsteps Counseling, and church-specific outreach initiatives address the mental, emotional, and physical holistic well-being of more than 3,000 people monthly.

Group Ministry and Family Connections

Our group ministry has flourished, with attendance reaching around 50% of our weekly worship attendance – a remarkable achievement we have long pursued. The Wednesday night Family Meals have fostered deeper connections and made it easier for families to participate in group and children’s activities.

Celebrations and Special Events

This past year, we celebrated significant milestones and hosted memorable events:

y In October, we commemorated our 70th anniversary through 70 Years of Yes, sharing stories of God’s faithfulness throughout the decades.

y The Carolina Sound Christmas program brought high-energy acapella performances, filling our hearts with joy and wonder.

y Our Serve Saturday in August mobilized volunteers to serve local schools, beautifying campuses, and preparing them for the new academic year.

y The Angel Tree initiative provided Christmas gifts for 230 children in Mosby Court, spreading the love of Christ and bringing smiles to countless faces.

As we look back on this incredible year, we are filled with gratitude for God’s abundant blessings and the unwavering commitment of our church family. Together, we have witnessed lives transformed, communities impacted, and the love of Christ manifested in tangible ways.

However, our work is far from over. As we embark on a new fiscal year, let us renew our commitment to making Christ-like disciples who impact families to transform our world. May we continue to be mobilized Christ-like servants, shining the light of hope and love in our community and beyond.

Yours in Christ, Pastor Wynne Lankford

Lead Pastor, Southside Church
