5 tips you don’t want to avoid If you’re a beginner to natural remedies, you might want to consider a few things before you purchase or concoct different recipes. Alternative medicine, especially when using herbs, can be just as complicated as conventional medicine because it incorporates Eastern and Western concepts of medicine and examines the individual from a holistic point of view. For instance, some holistic health practitioners and N.D.’s use a diagnosis method based on the Chinese principles of yin and yang constitutions. They also examine the individual’s energy levels, whether they have an internal or external condition, an excess or deficiency, etc.

The diagnosis and treatment process can become very extensive if you are new or lack the expertise in treating acute and chronic ailments.

However; you can empower yourself with a few helpful tips when deciding how to treat common illnesses such as colds, the flu, headaches, and more.

1. Know the condition that you are trying to treat. This is probably the most important tip you should consider because many symptoms can be misdiagnosed for other aliments.

This is where you definitely want to consult a professional health care physician to make sure you are treating the right condition. With that said, do not completely disregard any pertinent treatments or medicine the doctor gives to you. Most beginner herbal remedies are used to aid in the body’s natural healing process and should not be the main source of treatment if you are treating something serious like pneumonia or the flu. People who are older might require a smaller dosage than younger people. Women usually require smaller dosages than men due to their average weight, as well as people who are highly nervous.

5. Consider the proper preparation for different herbs. Some herbal remedies call for tea made from several herbs. According to The Doctor’s Book of Herbal Home Remedies, mix the herbs first before making the tea. If you are using the root (rhizome), bark, or hard parts of the herb, you will want to decoct the herb first and then steep the flower, leaves, and soft parts. A simple decoction involves simmering the hard parts of the herb in water for at least 5 to 30 minutes.

Afterwards, use the decoction to steep (also called an infusion) the dried leaves or flowers.

No Present Like The Time QUANTUM MECHANICS Part Seven

with Harry Haller

There is a point during one's travels through the Quantum world where off to the side, dark little alleyways begin to appear.

From their shadows voices beckon with questions about time. Time, you see, is a huge problem for physicists. There is no formal way of explaining it. More importantly, there is no single equation which properly describes the properties of time. In fact, only by conjecture and an indirect interpretation of the Second Law of Thermodynamics, also known as the law of entropy, do scientists have any means of accepting time as real. Quantum Mechanics has the added challenge of determining whether time is divisible into discrete sections or if, like proclaimed by Relativity, time is actually a smooth uninterrupted fabric sewn together by ticks and tocks.

realities, something which is an impossibility in any of the other three dimensions. To put it differently, you can walk around a room any which way you please, but while doing so you cannot go back in time nor sideways. You can only go forward. While strolling across the room along the path you have chosen, you can start off not feeling hungry and develop an appetite along the way, but you cannot be in a ten square meter room which is simultaneously twenty square meters in size. Even though time is a "dimension" it is in no way a facsimile nor an extension of the others. Therein lies the problem.

As the word implies "physics" deals with the "physical", something which time does not belong to. So time has never been properly ingrained within any of the calculations made by Physics.

For almost a century now time Measurements of time has been referred to as the fourth acceleration, velocity, duration dimension. The problem with this have been included, but not time is, unlike its one, two, and three D itself. Newton's Law of Gravity, brethren - length, width, and for example, incorporates time, height - time cannot be traversed but only in such a way so as to omni-directionally. Time also can describe how an object accelerates contain contradicting paradoxical over a period of time. It never

acknowledges the properties of time itself. There is no mention in Newton's formula that time can only travel in one direction - from the past to the future. There is no mention of why a second lasts a second, or what a second even is.

In short, Newton's Law of Gravity, as well as all other equations of Physics, can be as easily executed backwards in time as they can forwards. The end result being that in the scientific world, time - as we humans know it - is ultimately an irrelevancy, but the troubles with time do not end there.

Aside from the mechanical there is also the conceptual problem with time being a dimension. To be a dimension it has to exist entirely and eternally*, not just "in the here and now". Somehow, the past, the future and the present must be real at every moment, everywhere. Furthermore, they have to be real exponentially. In other words, every possible future, and therefore every possible past, must somehow be included if time is truly to be a dimension. This means that the entire universe would have to exist in a 16

permanent state of super-imposition which, in turn, would mean that the universe would need to be one without cause-and-effect, without free will, without time ever passing.

But wait. There's more.

With the emergence of String Theory, M-Theory and other new ideas expounding the need for more dimensions - more physical dimensions - why is it also not possible for there to be other dimensions of time? Aside from the instant repulsion such a concept has on our intellects the real kick to the knee is that there is absolutely no scientifically-sound argument which unequivocally disposes of the potential for such a second or third dimension of time to exist. Yet absolutely everyone in a lab-coat automatically ignores this elephant, which was fine for most of human intellectual history because the room scientists did their stuff in was huge.

Everything changed when C was invited to the party. C as in "the speed of light". With the introduction of C and the unique and profound properties of C, time could no longer be avoided. C married time to matter. Actually, C created a polygamous union between time, matter, and energy. The equation that did this... well, it's one you already know. It's actually the most famous equation in the world.

It's E=MC2.

Those three letters, one number, and equal sign basically redrew the map of what was, what is, and what could be included as all things which make up that which we call reality. They confined our universe to borders marked by the speed at which light could travel. In short, time was no longer window dressing. It was the infrastructure or, at the very least, a critical part of the load-bearing beams.

Except, of course, when it came to the microscopic.

At the quantum level something strange was happening. Photons and their fellow compatriots

didn't seem to care about C. No matter how far away they got from one another they remained in contact. Instant contact. Einstein hated this.

Not because of any bruise to his ego, but rather because the implications of this were catastrophic. It meant that at the smallest level objects could act and react regardless of time. In other words, things could happen before they were caused to happen, which goes far beyond the idea of a thoroughly inter -connected universe. This meant not only were we one with the universe, but we could be now what was decided for us to be later, which makes no sense at all.

The solution to all this?

Guess what.

There is none.

In short, one of the last mysteries of our universe is the one whose answer we seem to so blatantly experienced every waking moment of our lives – time, is time real? A question whose answer we may never know.

Look at the bright side, so far as you are now concerned, your boss will never be able to prove that you're late to work ever again. * By "eternally" I mean from the first moment of the existence of the universe till the last. If that is forever, then it is eternal. If that is finite then for as long as reality is meant to exist.

The appealing idea of running your own schedule often lures people into starting their own business and yes to some degree you do have more control in when you take time off, but the truth remains you work more than 40hrs a week. You will find yourself laying awake with 20

idea’s or worry floating in your mind. You always take your work home with you and you become the Queen (or king) of multitasking to get everything done! If you can’t image yourself working more than a 9 - 5 than being in business for yourself is going to be a tough start up.

Not all collaboration are created equal!

Once you’re in business, whether it is failing or not, others are going to come at you. They will want to collaborate, be hired, sell you their services and more! You need to be very cautious in deciding what you will say yes to! The second half of this is make sure you have an escape route, even if your working with your best friend!

Idea’s have a way of turning into something else all together and if you set early agreements on what need to be made and what your agreeing to then you have a way of walking away or buying others out if things aren’t going on the agreed upon path.

Taking time for you is a very important part of this journey as well! Your inbox will be a jumble of people who want to say Hitting Zero is a Milestone thank you, people who want free stuff, and people who No matter how much savings want your services. Your job you have built up, no matter

how much budgeting and rebudgeting you do, there comes a point when $0 is your bank account balance.

This is not a breaking point, but a building point. This is a place not only I have visited but thousands of entrepreneurs everywhere know that hitting zero is a privilege. Though when it happens it still can feel like a gut check that you have failed in some way. The truth is you are just a real business person, working the kinks out of your system, finding what marketing is best for you, learning what pieces of service you offer that are most valued by your clients and customers. If hitting zero is to much to bare just know you are not alone. Getting a part time income doing something else is not failure, it is funding your dream! If you can’t think of splitting yourself between your business and a second income then it is time to ask for help. It doesn't have to be direct.

Last month we discussed the Libra-Aries cycle, and it may have brought about quite a bit of transformation. Libra will bring the focus to anything that is out of balance, and New Moon in Scorpio Sunday, then work on balancing it. This month is Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

As many of you know I teach at the Gloria Gemma Breast Cancer Resource Foundation in, Pawtucket , RI. This year the lesson was based on 'FINDING YOUR VOICE'.

When a person goes through such a trauma in their life, their spirit takes such an emotional hit that they often lose their "voice" in their lives or perhaps prior to that.

It amazed me the strength of each and every person that has attended these classes, the stories they shared, the growth that had occurred.

As a spirit begins the process of losing their voice, and self-esteem steps down,

life seems to go so astray. One wonders when such a tragedy happens you have a great amount of emotional support around you from family, friends...how could you lose self-esteem? Oddly enough, you seem to keep up your front of how you feel for all of those around you. I guess you could say, to make them feel good. This was pretty much the common theme with most of the students.

As we began our work on rebuilding the spirit, speaking to the joy of life, to find what the spirit wants in life, to bring happiness back to the heart...you could hear the voice become strong again. I began to see the strength of the person come alive again. I could see the pride come through their eyes again. With each class the reports they would bring back I could hear more of the strength building.

The questions each week changed; not so much about their own health, but about the future of life.

That I found fascinating...they were looking forward!

Building the strength of the spirit, building the self, is so important as to how we look at the future, where we are going in this life, our health as well as love of self.
