CELEBRATING 75Years
The Powerboat Committee has decided to hold regular information evenings beginning at the end of March. The idea is to have a wide range of subjects offered every couple of months. Speakers will be local experts or members of the committee. I will start the ball rolling with an introductory navigation session, suiting those with little or no knowledge in this area. If you are interested, the details will appear on the website & in the regular news on email. points lost. However, the fleet is getting closer. Both Mahogany & Bijou were a mere five points behind. The popular winner on Handicap by a large margin was the Waters team in Three Sheets.
The Round Crab Island Trophy is next on February 27 & the Buck Jones Memorial is on March 20. There are a further four events after Easter finishing with the SYC Open in early June. If you are interested in having a go, contact me through the Club.
The navigation calendar is usually quiet over the festive season, but it has been especially quiet this season because of the postponement of the Vice Commodore’s Trophy in early December. We were down to five starters & the weather forecast was quite unpleasant. The event will be held now, on May 22 and will be still the final event in the Dux Series. On February 6, the season continued with the Chairman’s Trophy. The winner was once again the Brooker team in MIA with 11 Peter Brown VC Power
