A Sky Poem

The Northern Lights shine bright and strong all night. Well they will go away in the night. They shine like fireflies in the darkness of the night. They are big lines of colour.

The Runcible Tree

By Paul (Year 1)

On the runcible island Where the vines grow long, The runcible tree grows big and strong.

On the runcible island where the horses graze long, The runcible tree grows big and strong.

On the runcible island Where the rings grow on things, The runcible tree grows big and strong.

On the runcible island Where the vines grow long, And the horses graze long, And the rings grow on things, Because the runcible tree made all these things I think it deserves a cheer.

So put your arms up high and shout to the sky, Three cheers for the runcible tree!

So hip hip hooray! Hip hip hooray! For the runcible tree today.

A poem about Landscapes

Lava is very hot! Animals are rare there. Nine gallons of lava. Dry plants. Sulphur is smelly. Cracks in the ground. Air is hot there. People think it is dangerous. Eight lizards. Super dangerous lava.

By Bruce (Year 2)

You’re my best friend and I know I’m yours. I know we both hate being bored. We’ll be together until the end Because I know that you’re my friend.

I’m your best friend and we never give up Because when times are tough and in doubt We'll work it out And be friends throughout.

A Poem about Perspective

The day I arrived from America to England was different. They spell things differently, like colour.

But as an American we call it color. It’s like I travelled to a new dimension. Meeting new people from school was also different, then I realised everything was different. The snacks, the food, the words the stories were very different too.

I thought it was going to be normal like America, but it wasn’t. It was very difficult moving place to place. Soon you will get used to travelling. It is good to travel place to place. So that you can experience the world.

On the sports field, we work well too. I pass the ball to you. You get the ball through the goal And we stand on the podium to collect our gold.

You have the ideas And I make them rhyme Together we make poems divine When we combine.

A Poem about Patterns.

Mondays

Wake up: why is my alarm so annoying?

Breakfast: why do we always have toast?

Brush teeth: why is the toothpaste so minty?

Bus: why does the bus always arrive just as I start doing my shoelace?

School: what is our first lesson again?

Break time: what is for lunch?

Lunch: what time is my drum lesson at?

Home time: yaaaaaaaaaaaay!

Tuesday

Wake up: now we have to do it all again…

A poem about the stars

When the stars gleam in space they multiply. Lives are created in universal style. We go into our cosy bed but before we do that we look through telescopes all night long for we were created by the silver stars in empty space. All the silver stars twinkling brightly, the northern lights the aurora borealis, silver stars in space forever. We will always see silver stars every night. Every star is a friend of earth, the friendship is never broken. Every day we think about every silver star in great big space. When a star dies another one will always form and then it will live its new life. When we look through the telescope we see glorious Saturns ring its like a cycle of a stars life. The atmosphere keeps the warmth of earth our precious home. The greatness of the silver stars will always be shown to the love of our planets forever and ever.

When a person dies the star that created him will die the exact same time. Oh great stars live longer for the people of earth have their life forever. Every person is gifted by the stars and send their greatness to a silver star that is peacefully living a endless wonderful life.

Reception Topic: At the Vets!

Reception had two exciting visits this half term as part of their topics about being a Vet. Firstly, Poppy the dog popped by with Mrs CK for check-up and then a week later, now confident with their animal handling skills, the class were visited by some wonderful goats! Thanks to Eliza for telling us all about them and Mrs B for bringing them to school.
