Inspired by the Rising Stars Dressage Show, the aim of the Rising Stars Equitation Division is “to provide young riders, 21 years and under, the opportunity to participate in a dressage competition that is exclusively their own, in an environment that provides a fair playing field for junior riders of different age groups, wherein each will compete against his/her peer group at all levels of skill, from beginners to advanced.” The Rising Stars Equitation Division emphasizes the importance of equitation and its influence and effect on the performance of the horse, rewarding effort and participation, excellence in equitation, technical riding skills, and sportsmanship.

There will be two judges judging each rider in the Rising Stars Equitation Division. The first judge will be seated at C, and will score a regular technical test. The equitation judge will be seated at B, and will judge only the equitation of the rider using a customized Rising Stars equitation score sheet.
TECHNICAL SCORE:
The equitation score and technical score are not combined. Each class in the division will be placed and pinned based on technical scores.
EQUITATION SCORE:
The equitation scores from the equitation judge will tabulated, and riders with the top two scores in each age category at each level will qualify for the Equitation Championship Ride-Off. The Ride Off will bring together the top riders in from all age categories and levels to show off their skills in a dressage seat hack class. The equitation judge will select the Rising Stars Equitation Champion and Reserve Champion riders from the pool of top riders in the Ride-Off. The Ride-Off will be scheduled on Saturday late afternoon.
