In the Bible, God repeatedly takes ordinary people and does extraordinary things through them. Raising them up to be leaders who have a lasting impact, His people become the answer to society’s problems. Through wisdom and strength, they are enabled to be a blessing to a lost and confused world. Leaders, like Joseph, will stand before the world and speak such profound words that society will ask, “Where did these young people get such knowledge and understanding?” Being a part of the process of cultivating these types of leaders is what drives my passion and absolute belief in Christian education. There is no greater environment given to us where we can mold the next generation for the glory of God. Christian education allows us to educate and develop the “whole child”. Here at Southlands, we expect not only to have graduating students who will attend the greatest universities in the world, but also we are confident that those graduates will set institutions of higher learning on fire for His glory. Christian education produces men and women of impeccable character who are filled with brilliant ideas and have a heart for the nations. It cultivates the type of leader who is passionately pursuing God while loving and leading people to their destinies. We believe that an investment in Christian education is one of the wisest ventures a family can make because it reaches and impacts their children’s future and the world. We believe that the whole child MUST have a wealth of diverse experiences. A variety of opportunities are provided so that confidence, collaboration and Christ-like character are developed in and out of the classroom.
Academics & curriculum Curriculum and instructional programs across all of our schools regardless of grade are thoughtfully designed to challenge students at each level of their educational experience. Appropriate and rigorous curriculum is provided at each level of Southlands education, with the guidance and tutelage of wellqualified and loving teachers. Southlands is accredited by COGNIA, ACSI and WASC.
Athletics & enrichment Training Men & Women of Integrity
Our athletics and enrichment opportunities take students out of the classroom and place them in a socially rich environment, stimulating relationship and team-building skills. Family oriented activities coupled with the “5 C’s” of our athletics program foster personal growth and character development. Our 5 C’s philosophy establishes the following values: commitment, consistency, courage, communication, and compassion. These develop confidence in physical, intellectual and interpersonal skills.
The arts Through our Visual & Performing Arts program, students are exposed to a wide spectrum of classes. They are given a platform to demonstrate their creative abilities as they work alongside others. Our visual and performing arts students participate in competitions and exhibitions throughout the school year, winning multiple awards and being published in national catalogs.
Ethics & leadership Ethics and Leadership are core foundational aspects of the educational program at Southlands. We believe that students must first learn to lead themselves by having character and ethical principles that help guide their actions and behavior as individuals.

Student life & extracurricular activities Education happens both inside and outside of the classroom. Our goal is to provide a well-rounded learning environment where students can thrive in the areas of critical thinking, character, citizenship, collaboration, and creativity. Through class events, student government opportunities, clubs, trips, annual campus-wide activities and more, we provide memorable and life-changing experiences for our students. Our International Ambassadors Outreach program takes students overseas in an effort to connect local students with those from different cultures living abroad.
SUMMER & WINTER CAMPS Our campus is open all year long, providing the opportunity for families to utilize our Camps for their Preschool – 10th grade students. Summer Camp is a fun way to make the most of students’ time off from school. Schedule includes morning academics, afternoon games & activities, and weekly excursions to educational and fun places such as the Getty Museum and Disneyland.
Winter Camp is available during a portion of our 3 week Christmas break for preschool through 6th grade students and can also be made available for international student visitors while our regular school is in session. With special arrangements, international campers may join our local students in classes or have a class created just for visiting students. The camp includes academics, activities and field trips.
