OUR WEEK IN PICTURES

WORKSHOPS This week we have been treated to a plethora of amazing workshops across our school. EYFS had a visit from “The Mouse” from the well-known tale of ‘The Gruffalo and The Mouse’. KS1 had a very animated live workshop with Cat Weatherill who had the children howling like wolves. KS2 had a wonderful pre-recorded video from Steve Cole on how to become a writer. Steve sang several funny songs and even got pied!! KS2 were also treated to a live assembly and two readings from the fabulous David Walliams which was available on his website! We have had fantastic feedback on these event and you can see how much fun the children had from the pictures our teachers took in school.

THEATRE PERFORMANCE On World Book Day we were treated to some pre-recorded performances from the wonderful Hobgoblin Theatre. EYFS/KS1 watched Hansel and Gretel and also had a short workshop afterwards. KS2 enjoyed The Wind in the Willows. Not the same as seeing live theatre but very enjoyable all the same. Hobgoblin never fail to impress with their mix of drama and humour for all ages.

ART/DT BOOK CHARACTERS We also challenged the children to create their favourite book characters using fruit and vegetables and boy did we get some ‘crackers’!! See if you can guess which characters are which!!

EXTREME READING CHALLENGE Our PARENT children were also challenged to read in the most extreme places they could. We had some fantastic entries and I would like to add that no children were harmed in the creation of this newsletter!

WORLD BOOK DAY DRESS UP We did offer for the children to participate in dressing up today, although we knew it would be tricky. I am so pleased to show you the effort that so many of you went to make today so much fun and a day we all look forward to in the school calendar. See if you can name all the characters and spot yourself or some of your friends!
