Young Thug was sentenced to time served as part of a sweeping case that originally included dozens of defendants. The rapper, whose given name is Jeffery Williams, was released Thursday night after more than 900 days in custody, according to jail records. He will have to serve 15 years on probation as part of the non-negotiated plea agreement. Williams entered a nonnegotiated guilty plea deal Thursday related to several charges, including firearm possession and participation in criminal street gang activity, while he pleaded no contest to racketeering and leading a criminal street gang. The case marked the longest in Georgia’s history. in 2022, Williams was charged alongside more than two dozen others under Georgia’s sprawling Racketeer

Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act — known as RICO. Prosecutors accused the rapper of leading a criminal street gang that committed murder and a slew of violent crimes in Atlanta dating back a decade. Williams has denied that he was the head of a criminal enterprise. They argued YSL — the acronym for the artist’s label, Young Stoner Life Records — also stands for Young Slime Life, an Atlantabased criminal street gang affiliated with the national Bloods gang. Prosecutors sought to prove Young Thug was the proclaimed leader of the YSL gang and was involved in crimes its members committed, including the 2015 fatal shooting of an alleged rival gang member. Young Thug had allegedly rented a car that was used by YSL members in the killing, prosecutors said. Several other defendants charged in the case, including rapper Gunna, took plea deals or had their cases severed from the trial. Young Thug had been one of six defendants on trial together. The rapper had been in jail since his May 2022 arrest. Williams pleaded guilty to six charges –one count of participation in criminal street gang activity, three counts of violating the Georgia Controlled Substances Act, one count of firearm possession during commission of a felony and one count of possession of a machine gun. The two no-contest pleas meant he could still be sentenced for the charges as though a guilty plea had been entered though he did not contest the charges.

Known for their energetic live shows, Opus & The Frequencies have earned a reputation as a must-see Columbia act. This reputation has seen them playing small clubs and bars in support of local or touring regional acts, as well as gracing bigger stages like the St. Pats Festival in Five Points, Columbia Food and Wine Festival’s Concert On The Runway, Solfest Rollfest, and USC legacy events (Tiger Burn, First Night Carolina) in support of bands like Hippo Campus, Illiterate Light, The Blue Dogs, Flipturn, lighthearted and Brook and The Bluff to name a few. The Frequencies harness an eclectic blend of influences— funk, indie rock, Latin grooves, and pop sensibilities converging into a distinctive sound. This sonic alchemy flourishes whether they take the stage as a four-piece or an expansive ten-piece ensemble. The band found time between extensive gigging to record and release their first EP release, “You’re Trash Kid,” in early 2023. A largely self-recorded labor of love, the EP served as a crucible for their growth, offering invaluable insights into the intricacies of the recording process. Armed with this newfound wisdom, Opus & The Frequencies are currently in the process of recording "Euphoria" and "It's Time," two dancey funk-fueled singles primed for release in early 2024.

Question 2. So, what inspired you to start your journey in the radio game?

Q. How and when did you coin your stage name and how do you feel that title fits you?

Q. Do you have any upcoming projects or announcements to make?

A. This year I will be dropping a new project that I will not be spilling any details on just yet, but keep up with me on social media so you don't miss out! Also, planning more kid friendly events this year, be on the lookout for a candy and costume event this October for the community of Charleston.

Q. What would you say is the quote on quote secret recipe for your success?

A. My secret recipe to my success would include a few ingredients but most importantly RESILIENCE, CONFIDENCE, AND CONSISTENCY!

Q. What was your favorite part about hosting on the radio?

A. My favorite part about working in radio and media is meeting so many wonderfiul people who play gigantic roles that you would often overlook. Networking and becoming friends or business partners with these role models definetly keep me motivated and knowing they will contribute to what I create is even more heart warming.

Q. Name a time where you've faced adversity in your radio career? And, what impact did it have on you or your career?

A. In every career you will eventually receive some type of criticism or even rejection. It was almost discouraging in the beginning being super ready to begin my own radio show with a bigger station, but I kept hearing from the other talents and even the program director that I wasn't ready. It only made me practice and show up more and of course prove everyone wrong.

Q. Is there something in specific that you want people to know about you or your art?

A. I would like people to know that even though I speak about things that are relatable, motivational, and even some gossip, I initially feel like I have this voice and platform to teach and wake up our community that is still asleep and allowing the world to live life for them. I would eventually like to reach those people and create an army of knowledgable people who will also teach the generations to come.

Q. Okay, so its no secert you are a very attractive person. Our men readers would like to know, are you boo'd up or what? If so spilL the tea. Who's the lucky guy?

Q. What advice would you give those wanting to start their journey in your field?

A. Anyone interested in being on stages, on radio, or even helping kids and families in the community should just start. Find someone who you could consider a mentor and allow your wings to grow. Take that risk and do not be afraid of failure.

Question: Hey everyone it’s ya boy Darren Southern Plug Brown, here with a mega Southern Plug Exclusive. Introducing to some,(artist's name). So, tell our readers that may not be familiar with you or your work just who you are and what it is that you do exactly.

Answer: Hey Darren, I’m DJ Cooke or LedFiddle. I play the national anthem for events to celibate our country, those that have fought and fallen for our freedom! I’m an Army combat veteran myself and feel it’s my mission! I also build guitars!

Question: So, what inspired you to start your journey as an guitarist?

Answer: Early on I wanted to be a guitarist! But life took me other directions. During that time I served with some magnificent people in some tough places! I wanted to combine my skill as a guitarist and my mission to empower veterans into one thing. So playing the National Anthem n guitar just fit!

Question: How and when did you coin the stage name Ledfiddle? And how do you feel that title fits you?

Answer: Well… it just kinda happen! A buddy of mine and I would call guitars “getfiddles”. I started building guitars and having the idea of performing the National Anthem when I was still on active duty. I felt like “getfidddle” was too country for other musicians. So I changed “get” to “lead” then everyone pronounced it as in first place “lead so I changed the spelling to “Led”

Question: Do you have any upcoming projects or announcements to make?

Answer: I am constantly networking to play the National Anthem as well as other projects! I love music in general! I am involved with several artist with studio work and always looking for opportunities to play the National Anthem live! My next live goals are the Carolina Panthers and the Atlanta Braves!

Question: What would you say is the quote on quote secret recipe for your success?

Answer: Never stop pushing your boundaries!!!! The day you stop trying to better yourself is the day the person that wants what you have, wins!

Question: What was your favorite part about what you do?

Question: Name a time where you've faced adversity in your career? And, what impact did it have on you or your career?

Answer: I cater to veterans. I do this because I feel there is a sacrifice made by veterans that most will never understand. I have had several veterans try to take advantage of me and my business and that’s just so disheartening! That has been difficult because in the military we are taught to treat each other as brothers and sisters. It has made me more guarded but more appreciative of the brothers and sisters I learn I can trust!

Question: Is there something in specific that you want people to know about you or your art?

Question: How do you juggle your personal life and professional life?

Answer: A huge part of all this for me is showing my son that you can do anything you set your mind to. One of my sons biggest heros is Ty from Dude Perfect! When we got tickets to see him live my son came running into my room and said “dad ty plays guitar! Build him one please!!!!” So… I did. And my son , wife and, I gave it to Ty at the Dude Perfect show in Charlotte! I include my family in all aspects of what I do! Without them…. I would not be who I am!

Question: What advice would you give those wanting to start their journey in your field?

Answer: Don’t be inside the box! Learn your instrument but then bent the instrument to show the world you! Do something new! Because you can play like your favorite player does not make you as good as them. Always remember the best of the best played like no one else at the time they became famous!

Question: Who would you say is your biggest inspiration and why?

Answer: That’s tough!!!! But the one band that made me obsessed with music is Nirvana! Following Kurt Cobain's influencers brought me to blues! All music is connected!

Question: Ok we do this every interview! What creatives would you absolutely die to work with?

Answer: Dave Grohl, Ken Mo’, Buddy Guy, Tom Morello, J Massis, snoop…. I mean so many!!!!

Question: Tell our readers how they can book you and connect with you on the world wide web and on the socials. Answer: Email: ledfiddleguitars@gmail.com on Instagram @ledfiddle

Answer: There is a power in music that does not exist in any other art form! I can use my guitar to make you smile or cry. But no matter which I have you feel, you are in my realm so you can let go of yours and relax!

Answer: I want people to remember America! “We the people” means something to me! Patriotism is not about a political party or a branch of service, it’s about love and mutual respect! When I play the National Anthem my goal is to give everyone in the audience goosebumps thinkingof those that have sacrificed for our freedoms!
