The CMT Awards features fan-voted country music videos and live performances annually on the CMT Channel in Nashville, Tennessee. In an effort to be more inclusive of other cultures, the CMT Awards recently began inviting Black performers. “I don’t know who this Black guy 4
who’s hosting it. It’s supposed to be country music. No offense. I mean, y’all have hip-hop and basketball…Just fly with your flock, bro.”Howley played a tape of Mackie hosting the CMT Awards and imitated a Black accent to mock the actor: “The melanated people invented country music! We was making country music in Wakanda before Johnny Cash and Merle Haggard done stole the Black man’s country music!” After his comments drew backlash on Twitter, Howley claimed he isn’t racist because he listens to Black music. “No disrespect to the funky brothers,” he continued. “I love Earth Wind and Fire, Run DMC, etc. But country music’s different… It’s not Wakanda.”

What do you get when you combine a fresh face, demanding stage presence, clever word-play, quality music, and a creative mystique? You get Marle' Blu aka "The Beauty with the Bars." Marle' Blu (real name: Tiffany Wiggins) is a native of Austin, Texas. Having been a "military brat" she spent her childhood traveling and living in Tucson, Arizona as well as Warner Robins, GA (where she spent the majority of her growing up years). Not only was Marle' Blu an honor student, but she was an outgoing and adventurous child. Although she was involved in various sports and extra curricular activities, her passion was writing, music, and performing. As a young child around the age of 6, Marle' Blu began writing poetry and short stories. Her love for literature paired with her interest in music evolved into the beginning of her writing rap lyrics. At age 12, she began exploring the world of music and would often call the local radio station to participate in a rap contest, called "Who Got the Flava?" each day. As a teen, Marle' Blu viewed music as a hobby and school as a priority. It was not until Marle' Blu graduated high school and relocated to Atlanta, GA that she began to pursue music as a career. During her time at Georgia State University, Marle' Blu began to song-writing, recording music, and performing. She graduated with a bachelors degree in Sociology in 2010. During that year, she also achieved her first big win at the Encore Music Showcase hosted by DJ Scream. Marle' Blu has since gone on to win several different music showcases while simultaneously completing two mixtapes and an EP. Marle' Blu was the 2014 recipient of the Hot Block Magazine Award for the Hottest Female Emcee in Atlanta, GA. Her versatility as a songwriter, femcee, singer, and dancer have defined her, by many, as a "quadruple threat." Her faith, perseverance, hard-work, focus, and talent are what drive her as she continues to climb the latter of success in a majority male dominated industry. Marle' Blu's latest project, entitled "Girl Code", is a solid body of work that reflects who she is as a person and as an artist...intelligent, sexy, strong, clever, intriguing and TALENTED.

EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW
W/ 2SLiK
Q. Wassup, it's your boy Darren Southern Plug Brown for Southern Plug Magazines here with 2Slik of Community Records. Tell our readers that may not be familiar with you or your work who you are? A. I’m a hip hop artist, started many years ago when I was younger writing raps. Few years ago I started taking it more serious and we here now so I am very blessed. Q. What new business ventures do you have up your sleeve? A.We have a lot going on but I am super excited about my upcoming Podcast that we start launching in May. We are gonna have some awesome guests and really do some cool stuff over there.” Q. So back to Community Records. What is your role actually at the label? A. I came on as an artist when it was just starting but me and Smokey (Matthew Leighton & CEO) I help consult and find new talent make sure we are heading in the right direction. Me and Smokey have just worked so well that it’s been a real blessing and I owe him and the Label a lot. Q. Has operating in that capacity affected your artistry in any manner. If soz how? A. I think it’s taken pressure off of me and the I actually enjoy the business aspect of music. I had great teachers in this game and I felt that it is nice to both be in the spotlight but also take the back seat too. Q. What is the biggest obstacle you've had to face in the entertainment industry? A. I think self doubt is always a obstacle but it’s being away from my kids and traveling that was the hardest. I don’t get to see them much being they live in SC I’m in GA now but I remember early on and even now when I do things for music or what not I always feel guilty I don’t see them more and that is a heavy burden as an artist. Q. So there many other rappers from the Carolina's today yet you still reign supreme, so what about you and your music sets you apart from other SC artist? A. I don’t see myself a head of other rappers or anything. I think what sets me aside that artists from others I support heavy. I go out I network I keep it fresh and I don’t need the attention like these other artists see

Q. Is your lifestyle all work and no play or is doing what you do as easy as you make it seem? A. Haha…I never have a day off so when I work it’s work and when I play it’s all the way in. There are times I admit I probably get a little too comfortable but then there is something that always comes and reignites the fire. Q. With you being the Vice president of Community Records. are there any other hot new acts on your label that you are grooming to take over? A. Too many to name haha. But I love what LiL Vibe is doing in Philly and I believe Huddle is one of the hardest rappers in the Carolinas and once we finally get him going I think time will show that. Q. Feel like giving us a Southern Plug Exclusive today? What’s the next project for Community Records?. A. Be on the look out for a lot of videos coming and the Podcast that will be launching. We are also going to set up a local playlist for South Carolina rappers on Spotify. Q. Thats it for this Southern Plug Exclusive with 2SLiK. Now tell my readers how they can find you online; Social media, Website, music pages etc? A. Just Google 2SLiK for all music services and my IG @TheReal2SLiK. I appreciate the opportunity and recognition. God Bless and best of luck to you guys and to all upcoming artists. You do great work for Musical Talent in the Carolinas

I customize anything, sell picture prints , change old clothes to come thing new , make clothes and sell my own clothing brand that changes negative words to positive words. A little back story ; I was bullied in through middle school up until my 10th grade year for my appearance so I know how it is to feel to not feel wanted. Also I was that person that people came to for them to get creative and artistic things done ! So I came up with the name YoubyAmour to support all sizes , sex, and looksand MiracleDesignz was created as a section of all the clothes I customized..the meaning behind YoubyAmour means to love yourself , be yourself , and no matter what anybody says you are worth everything in life !

WHY ARE SPLIT SHEETS CRUCIAL? Songwriter split sheets are an integral part of the music business. A split sheet is a written agreement that identifies each contributor to a song and establishes ownership percentages amongst them. The agreed percentages determine how much each contributor will receive from the royalties generated by their music.Split sheets are necessary for every song you write with collaborators. They ensure everyone involved in the creative process is properly credited and paid for the work they contributed. It’s also important to note that split sheets are not a copyright agreement. Copyright ownership is different. Split sheets are an essential safeguard for all co-creators of a song. They ensure everyone involved in the creation process receives credit and compensation for their work. Split sheets can also save creators from a potential legal headache because it requires them to work out an agreement and establish ownership in writing. Under U.S. Copyright Law, any co-written content without a written agreement will be equally divided depending on the number of people involved. Without a split sheet, contributing producers and songwriters risk receiving less ownership or revenue for the content they created. This can lead to ugly disputes among each contributor and potential legal battles. Also, a Performing Rights Organization (PRO), record label, music publisher, music licensor, and any other third-party using the song can hold royalty payments until the conflict resolves. Moreover, contributors risk not getting credit or royalty payments if a company does not know who,

or how much to pay.
