A COZY AND INTIMATE VENUE FOR UNFORGETTABLE PERFORMANCES
THE Shed Theatre, located out the back of The Pig & Whistle, Main Ridge has recently attracted the attention of some of Australia’s biggest agents and touring artists.
The old machinery shed was renovated and transformed into a 100 seat rustic theatre, draped with velvet curtains, vintage furniture and high-quality sound equipment. Made from corrugated iron walls and secondhand materials, this theatre has become one of Mornington Peninsula’s most unique entertainment venues for punters, artists, and musicians.
Launched in 2021, The Shed has presented artists such as, Katie Noonan, Tim Freedman, Tex Perkins and Lloyd Spiegel, with many more amazing acts booked for 2024.
“We want the Shed Theatre to continue to present a diverse program of entertainment, as well provide a space for activities such as choir rehearsals, wellbeing workshops, youth events and more”, says Arts & Entertainment coordinator Heidi Luckhurst. Expanding on this, The Pig & Whistle has included large scale festivals such as The Swiss Festival & International Women’s Day Festival which has created many opportunities for local businesses and artists.
