Assistant County Attorney
Freeborn County seeks to hire a full-time Assistant County Attorney. The individual selected for this position will handle a mixed caseload, including criminal matters, social service cases and general county legal advice. The caseload will focus on juvenile adjudication and CHIPS cases and will involve court hearings and trials as well as office practice. There will be an emphasis on courtroom skills, and legal research abilities. In addition to necessary courtroom skills, the successful applicant must possess strong written and verbal communication skills. Requires a J.D. or L.L.B. Degree with a license to practice law in Minnesota –one year of experience as a law clerk and/or an attorney is preferred. Annual salary $90,581 – $139,813 based on experience.

PART-TIME PROBATION AND PRE-TRIAL ASSISTANT
Freeborn County is looking to fill a part-time (24 hours per week) Probation and Pre-Trial assistant. The successful candidate must be flexible with their work schedule to meet departmental needs, including adjusting work hours as necessary to accommodate offender appointments, court-related activities, office coverage, and other operational requirements. The Probation and Pre-Trial Support Assistant performs a wide variety of complex office routines, processes and operations requiring training, knowledge and experience in the application of specific departmental or program rules, guidelines, statutes, laws or agency procedures. This includes reviewing and assess court orders, gather information for cases, create reports, enter data, edit documents, locate documents, and provide excellent interpersonal and office skills to offenders, public, lawyers, and judges.

PUBLIC HEALTH PLANNER
The Planner is responsible to conduct research on and assist in the planning, development, modification, and implementation of agency and/or division policy and strategic plans. Implements and evaluates programs and initiatives in an assigned specialty area, particularly related to (EXAMPLE: tobacco and asthma) across the county, with a focus on ensuring health equity. Assists in preparing reports and presentations. Works with clients, partners, outside vendors, and management to develop or implement programs, initiatives, and policy, systems, and environmental (PSE) changes in a manner that addresses agency and community strategies. This position is designed to improve our local public health agency’s ability to perform foundational public health responsibilities. This position is responsible for implementing the required Local Public Health Activities that are organized according to the following areas: assuring adequate local public health infrastructure; promoting healthy communities and healthy behavior; preventing the spread of infectious disease; protecting against environmental health hazards; preparing for and responding to disasters and assisting communities in recovery; and assuring the quality and accessibility of health services. Salary Range $80,469 - $107,313.
