The Deputy County Administrator – Budget & Finance includes the Auditor-Treasurer’s Office within its assigned portfolio. The position provides administrative oversight and coordination to ensure financial operations are aligned with County priorities, budget strategies, and organizational goals. This oversight includes direction related to budgeting, reporting, and operational alignment. Statutory duties and responsibilities assigned to the Auditor-Treasurer remain intact and are carried out in accordance with applicable law.

Freeborn County Probation Officer

Freeborn County is seeking a Probation Services

Director. Freeborn County is looking to fill a full-time probation officer. Under the supervision of the department Director, the Probation Officer is responsible for supervision of adult low risk pre-trial offenders placed on supervision by the Court. Responsible for providing for the safety of the community and encouraging the rehabilitation of juvenile and adult offenders, using evidence-based practices, incorporating restorative justice practices, comprehensive investigative and analytic reports for use by the Court and for chemical health placements, supervising offenders, maintaining knowledge of all areas of offender deficits and mental health issues and anti-social thinking. Annual salary range is $76,634 - $102,192 based on experience.

Freeborn County is accepting applications for 40 hour a week Seasonal Highway Tractor/Mower Operator in the Highway Department. The position is responsible for mowing roadside ditches throughout the county highway system using large agricultural tractors and “batwing” style mowers. Previous experience operating agricultural equipment is mandatory. Applicants must have a valid Minnesota Driver’s license, must be 18 years of age, must have good communication skills, and able to lift 70 pounds occasionally. High school graduate or GED preferred.

Sheriff’s Office 911 / I.T. Specialist

Under general supervision of the Information Technology Supervisor, this position supports the mission of the Freeborn County IT Department by providing technology consulting, systems implementation, and technology support services to the Sheriff’s Office and other County departments to ensure services operate smoothly and efficiently. The Sheriff’s Office 911 / IT Specialist primarily supports the Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office - while also managing IT projects in other County departments as needed. It serves as a general technology consultant, supporting the Sheriff’s Office with strategic IT planning and identifying opportunities for process improvements and technology enhancements. The position also supports technical troubleshooting and works closely with Sheriff’s Office and IT staff to ensure timely resolution of issues and smooth integration with County systems.

PUBLIC HEALTH PLANNER

The Planner is responsible to conduct research on and assist in the planning, development, modification, and implementation of agency and/or division policy and strategic plans. Implements and evaluates programs and initiatives in an assigned specialty area, particularly related to (EXAMPLE: tobacco and asthma) across the county, with a focus on ensuring health equity. Assists in preparing reports and presentations. Works with clients, partners, outside vendors, and management to develop or implement programs, initiatives, and policy, systems, and environmental (PSE) changes in a manner that addresses agency and community strategies. This position is designed to improve our local public health agency’s ability to perform foundational public health responsibilities. This position is responsible for implementing the required Local Public Health Activities that are organized according to the following areas: assuring adequate local public health infrastructure; promoting healthy communities and healthy behavior; preventing the spread of infectious disease; protecting against environmental health hazards; preparing for and responding to disasters and assisting communities in recovery; and assuring the quality and accessibility of health services. Annual salary range is $80,469$107,313 based on experience.

Women, Infants and Children (WIC) Coordinator

WIC Coordinator administers, coordinates and supervises the policies, procedures and activities in the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children (WIC) to provide food, nutrition counseling and access to health services to low-income women, infants and children and ensure compliance with federal, state and local rules and regulations. Coordinates WIC services with other services available to WIC participants both at WIC clinic sites and in the community. Provides work direction and training for dietitians, nurses, CPAs, and office support staff, as needed.
