Freeborn County seeks to hire a full-time Assistant County Attorney and to establish an eligibility list. The individual selected for this position will handle a mixed caseload, including criminal matters, social service cases and general county legal advice. The caseload will focus on juvenile adjudication and CHIPS cases and will involve court hearings and trials as well as office practice. There will be an emphasis on courtroom skills, and legal research abilities. In addition to necessary courtroom skills, the successful applicant must possess strong written and verbal communication skills. Requires a J.D. or L.L.B. Degree with a license to practice law in Minnesota –one year of experience as a law clerk and/or an attorney is preferred. Annual salary $90,581 – $139,813 based on experience.

Freeborn County Probation Officer

Freeborn County is seeking a Probation Services Director. Freeborn County is looking to fill a full-time probation officer. Under the supervision of the department Director, the Probation Officer is responsible for supervision of adult low risk pre-trial offenders placed on supervision by the Court. Responsible for providing for the safety of the community and encouraging the rehabilitation of juvenile and adult offenders, using evidence-based practices, incorporating restorative justice practices, comprehensive investigative and analytic reports for use by the Court and for chemical health placements, supervising offenders, maintaining knowledge of all areas of offender deficits and mental health issues and anti-social thinking. Annual salary range is $76,634 - $102,192 based on experience.

The Planner is responsible to conduct research on and assist in the planning, development, modification, and implementation of agency and/or division policy and strategic plans. This position is responsible for implementing the required Local Public Health Activities that are organized according to the following areas: assuring adequate local public health infrastructure; promoting healthy communities and healthy behavior; preventing the spread of infectious disease; protecting against environmental health hazards; preparing for and responding to disasters and assisting communities in recovery; and assuring the quality and accessibility of health services. Annual salary range is $80,469$107,313 based on experience.
