FULL-TIME PUBLIC WORKS MAINTENANCE POSITION

The City of Alden is accepting applications for a full-time position in the Public Works Department. This position is under the supervision of the Public Works Superintendent and is responsible for the operation and maintenance of streets, storm sewers, parks, buildings, and the water and wastewater systems and facilities. Minimum qualifications include a high- school diploma or GED; a valid Class B Minnesota driver’s license, or the ability to obtain within 30 days; Class C water and Class D wastewater license, or the ability to obtain; and the ability to report to an emergency call within 30 minutes.

Duties include answering phones and radios, evaluating information, prioritizing and dispatching emergency and non-emergency calls. Shift work is required which includes evenings, weekends and holidays. Starting minimum salary: $26.02/ hr.

The License Center Specialist provides customer service to license motor vehicles, boats, snowmobiles, ATV’s and off-road vehicles. Processes driver’s licenses, ID’s, and instruction permit applications as well as commercial driver’s license medical self-certifications. Processes title transfers and creates reports.

Minimum starting pay $22.77 hr.
