FLOOD RELIEF GRANTS ARE AVAILABLE The Burlington Community Fund at Veterans Terrace is offering Flood Relief Grants of up to $10,000 per household for Burlington area residents who suffered losses related to the flood of July 2017.

Grant requests will be processed by an independent accounting firm and are intended to meet immediate needs for necessary household furnishings, appliances, food and utilities as well as cleanup and repair. According to the criteria established by the Burlington Community Fund, those determined to have the greatest need will be given a higher priority in our process. Flood relief grant applications are available at Love Inc., Burlington, or may be downloaded at www. burlingtoncommunityfund.com. Completed applications should be mailed to Burlington Community Fund, P.O. Box 546, Burlington, WI 53105. The deadline is Aug. 8. Residents also have the option of attending a grant application processing event at Veterans Terrace on Saturday, Aug. 5, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The East Troy School Board was finally able to agree about the open board seat and lack of officers at a special meeting June 4. The meeting came about when board members found out late last week the pending referendum bond to build the new elementary school and make improvements at other
district facilities has to be signed by the School Board president. The board has been operating as a four-member board without officers since last month because the board members couldn’t agree on whom to appoint to the open seat that was left when the term Brian Wexler was filling out expired on the third Tuesday in April.
