Pickers have a final chance in 2021 on Sept. 26
The Elkhorn Antique Flea Market will wrap up its 40th season Sept. 26 with its final event of 2021 at the Walworth County Fairgrounds, 411 E. Court St.
The market features eight buildings filled with treasure-sellers and many more dealers outside.
An average of about 500 vendors and dealers bring with them a wide range of merchandise from rough to fine refinished furniture, glassware to pottery, advertising to linens, decoys to dolls and everything else in between, according to organizers.
The hours are 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. and it’s held rain or shine. Tickets are $5 at the gate and parking is available free of charge. The market offers paved walkways.
There are plenty of food options available at the markets, from dessert and snacks to sandwiches and Wisconsin cheese curds.
In the past several years, antique items have become increasingly trendy.
While most vendors said they were pleased vintage items continue to remain in circulation, some said they didn’t concern themselves with how popular something is. On antique flea market event days, the fairgrounds quickly fill up with customers and attendees often bargaining over prices. And it’s not always for a great amount as some deals are negotiated for a price difference of a few dollars.
Although a variety exists, the primary emphasis is on antiques and old collectibles. Only dealers with all antiques and old collectibles are currently being added to the show, organizers state.
