Music by the Lake series to feature five shows this summer

Music will again flow from the shore of Geneva Lake with another season of the outdoor summer music series Music by the Lake.

The Fero Pavilion at George Williams College of Aurora University in Williams Bay will host five shows in July and August. 2022 Music by the Lake performances include: Joffrey Academy of Dance, Official School of The Joffrey Ballet: Rita Finds Home July 17; The Irish Tenors with the Chicago Philharmonic July 24; Get Happy! Michael Feinstein Celebrates the Judy Garland Centennial July 30; An Evening With Air Supply Aug. 6; Lake Geneva Symphony Orchestra Aug. 14.

Tickets, with varied prices, are available online at musicbythelake.com. They may also be purchased over the phone Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 262-245-8501. Any remaining tickets will be sold at Fero Pavilion immediately prior to each show.

Reserved Dress Circle and Orchestra seats are located under the pavilion while general admission Terrace seats and lawn seats are uncovered. Concertgoers who purchase lawn seats typically bring blankets or lawn chairs.

Sunday, July 17, at 4 p.m.

Joffrey Academy of Dance, Official School of The Joffrey Ballet: Rita Finds Home

Created as a ballet that would speak to the issues and the young people of today, this original work focuses on a young girl named Rita who is displaced from her tropical home by a hurricane and struggles to redefine her sense of self as her family relocates to the big city.

Ticket prices: All seats $15

Sunday, July 24, at 4 p.m.

The Irish Tenors with the Chicago Philharmonic

The famed trio, always thrilling audiences worldwide with their enchanting Irish repertoire, teams up with some of the highest-level classical musicians performing in the Chicago area.

With 10 best-selling CDs to their credit, the tenors have performed all over the world, including Radio City Music Hall, Madison Square Garden, Carnegie Hall, the Hollywood Bowl, and even a stop at Music by the Lake in 2006.

At every engagement along the way, the group has thrilled audiences with their interpretations of contemporary material and enchanting Irish repertoire. All classically trained singers, together they combine to produce an unparalleled listening experience, giving new life to traditional treasures.

Get Happy! Michael Feinstein Celebrates the Judy Garland Centennial

The Ambassador of the Great American Songbook pays tribute to the unparalleled talent and charisma of the legendary Judy Garland in this, her 100th birthday year.

Feinstein, returning for his second Music by the Lake appearance this summer, has built a career over the last three decades bringing the music of the Great American songbook to the world. From recordings that have earned him five Grammy Award nominations to his Emmy nominated PBS television specials, his acclaimed NPR

An Evening With Air Supply

Now in their 47th year, the much-loved Australian-English soft rock duo continues to tour worldwide, performing charttopping hits “All Out of Love,” “Even the Nights Are Better,” and others.

The band continues to tour internationally, having performed in England, Ireland, Israel, the Philippines, Korea, Taiwan, Japan, Canada, and many other countries, of course including their home, the United States.

In January 2020, Australian newspaper the Herald Sun proclaimed Air Supply in the top five of the “Greatest Aussie Bands” of all time, in the company of AC/DC, the Bee Gees, and INXS. And to the delight of their fans both new and old, the journey continues.

Lake Geneva Symphony Orchestra

Since its founding in 2001, this celebrated orchestra is dedicated to the performance and appreciation of classical music throughout Lake Geneva and surrounding communities.

The LGSO, under the direction of American Prize-winning conductor David Anderson, travels to new heights at Music by the Lake this summer with a musical odyssey celebrating some out-of-this-world selections. Journey through a universe of sound as the LGSO samples well-known pieces from Richard Strauss, Gustav Holst, John Williams, David Bowie, and many others.
