Antioch Chamber of Commerce to host Halloweenthemed carnival
The Antioch Chamber of Commerce will host its “Halloween Fest” carnival from Thursday, Oct. 26, until Sunday, Oct. 29, in the large north parking lot behind the shops on the east side of Main Street, Skidmore Drive, Antioch. This large Carnival offers rides for every age. Enjoy the crisp fall weather, spooky music, flying ghosts and more. A wide variety of ticket options are available to offer savings for multiple visits. There will also be contests and prizes. The costume contest will be at 8 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 27, at the Antioch Bandshell. Each contest will be broken up into age groups ages one to five, ages six to 10, ages 11 to 15 and ages 16 and older. Contest categories are originality, scary, funny and character. Winners of each group will receive a Megaband Wristband good for the rest of the carnival after the contest.

The Fox LakeGrant Township Historical Society, located at 411 Washington St., in Ingleside, sponsored the event which was attended by patrons, members, and friends of the society. Members were encouraged to bring in items for Gates to appraise. Gates entertained the audience with a running commentary, often humorous, on the evolving market of antiques, memorabilia, and collectibles. Carnival information The carnival hours are as follows • From 5 to 10 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 26 • From 5 to 11 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 27 • From noon to 11 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 28 • From noon to 8 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 29 Carnival ride pricings are as follows: • Megabands purchased online before Oct. 24, are $50 per person. These wristbands include unlimited rides during carnival hours are valid for all four days • Megabands purchased at the carnival are $60 per person • Daily wristbands are $30 per person and include unlimited rides during Carnival Hours for one day. • Daily tickets are $1.25 per ticket • Free ride coupon may be used for one ride and are limited to one coupon per person per day. Coupon must be printed from the website and brought to the fair to be used The Special Needs Family Carnival will be from 1 to 3 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 27.
