Jolly old soul Dec. 1 in Elkhorn was all about Santa, who, along with Mrs. Claus, were treated to a carriage ride to the downtown square for the tree lighting (top) followed by a Santa reception in the Community Center at Matheson Memorial Library (above and far left) where the two visited with members of the community, from young children to the young-at-heart, and visitors were treated to cookies and hot drinks. The 36th Annual Christmas Card Town Parade, held Dec. 2 in Elkhorn, featured hundreds of entries and several blocks of both sides of the streets lined with onlookers. Clockwise from the left: Dreams Studio’s float, is comprised of a wagon and several Christmas decorations along with dance students; members of Girl Scout Troop 3115 walk along the route; Karlie Kroening (from the left), Walworth County Cloggers Kelsie Kroening, Lilly Narayanan and Rylee Constable do a dance on their float; and the parade is led by the Elkhorn Police Department, local VFW, Civil Air Patrol and Marine Corps.
