Jolly old soul Dec. 1 in Elkhorn was all about Santa, who, along with Mrs. Claus, were treated to a carriage ride to the downtown square for the tree lighting (top) followed by a Santa reception in the Community Center at Matheson Memorial Library (above and far left) where the two visited with members of the community, from young children to the young-at-heart, and visitors were treated to cookies and hot drinks.

The 36th Annual Christmas Card Town Parade, held Dec. 2 in Elkhorn, featured hundreds of entries and several blocks of both sides of the streets lined with onlookers.
