World premiere of ‘Elisa Monte Dance Does Brubeck’ comes to College of Lake County Gravity-defying physical power, as well as winding and twisting dance that bridges cultural barriers, highlights the world premiere of “Elisa Monte Dance Does Brubeck” at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 16, at the James Lumber Center for the Performing Arts at the College of Lake County, 19351 W. Washington St., Grayslake. Diverse, daring, passionate and united in spirit, the acclaimed, New York-based modern dance features eight powerful dancers showcasing their talents in a two-act work. Her resume includes roles as principal dancer with the Martha Graham Dance Company, Lar Lubovitch and Pilobolus. The virtuosic, versatile artists of Triple Play will perform folk, blues, jazz
and classical music. The trio features Peter Madcat Ruth (harmonica, guitar, jaw harp, percussion and vocals); Joel Brown (folk and classical guitar and vocals) and Chris Brubeck (electric bass, bass trombone, piano and vocals).
