Valencia Orange Quick Bread Recipe Prep Time: 20 mins • Bake In: 40 mins • 2 servings

Ingredients

Directions

3 cups unbleached all-purpose flour 3 teaspoons baking powder 1/2 teaspoon salt 1 tablespoon grated (Valencia) orange rind 1/2 to 3/4 cup sugar (use more sugar for a more cake-like consistency) 1 egg 1/2 cup Valencia Orange juice 1 1/4 cups milk 2 tablespoons melted shortening

Preheat oven to 350 F. Sift flour, baking powder and salt together in a large bowl.

Combine and add grated orange rind and sugar.

Combine and add egg, orange juice, milk and melted shortening.

Pour the liquid mixture into the bowl. Combine all ingredients with a few swift strokes. Stir lightly until barely blended.

Bake the bread in two greased loaf pans about 40-50 minutes or until done.

Hale Groves Florida Peach Bacon Basil Burger Prep Time: 20 mins • Cook Time: 30 mins • 6 servings

Ingredients

Directions

1½ lbs. ground sirloin 2 Tbsp. pickled jalapeño peppers, chopped 2 Tbsp. pickled jalapeño pepper juice 1 tsp. kosher salt 6 thick bacon slices 1 small sweet onion, sliced ½ c. peach chutney 4 ounces goat cheese, softened 6 hamburger buns, toasted 1 medium peach, sliced Fresh basil leaves

Pre-heat grill to medium-high heat. Combine ground sirloin, peppers, pepper juice, and salt and gently shape into six 4-inch patties.

Cook bacon in a large skillet over medium heat until crisp (about 8 minutes). Remove and drain on paper towels. Reserve 2 tablespoons of bacon drippings in skillet; increase heat to medium-high, and sauté onion until tender (about 6 minutes). Remove from heat and stir in chutney.

Grill patties with grill lid closed until beef is no longer pink in center (about 4 to 5 minutes each side).

Top with cheese and serve on hamburger buns with onion mixture, bacon, peach slices, and basil leaves.
