Embracing Our Natural Environment

l GreenDreams - Community greenspace festival held at Field Place each year.

Next event, 30th September. l Gardening and Woodwork - Working with Sustainable Sussex to deliver sessions aimed at those with learning disabilities. l Green Flag Award - This award recognises the best community green spaces in the country and was again awarded to Field Place this year. l Summer Holiday Programme - We have worked in partnership with the Sussex Wildlife Trust to deliver environmental activities on the beach. More activities planned for this Summer in partnership with Sussex Green Living (recycling initiatives) and Owls About Town. l Last Fisherman Standing - Working in partnership to give people a better understanding of our seas and local heritage. l Walking, running and cycling over the South Downs - Weekly sessions based at Worthing College. l Worthing parkrun - South Downs Leisure are proud to support this free 5km weekly run as part of a worldwide initiative. l GoodGym - A community of runners getting fit whilst undertaking physical tasks for the local community and assisting those in social isolation.

Mental Health

l LiveWell Day - Activities available for those with dementia including arts and crafts, MOT checks and Tai Chi. Next event taking place 16th May. l Dementia Friends Training is being rolled out across the organisation in association with Dementia Alliance. l Time to Change Pledge - Formalising mental health policies within the organisation in line with MIND guidelines. l Mindfulness Courses are being delivered on a rolling basis at Field Place. l Specialist sessions (badminton, football and yoga).

Our Communities

l Work Placements - Working with the Aldingbourne Trust to provide work experience placements within our cafes. l The Phoenix Club - Supporting the over 50’s with activities including arts and crafts, theatre trips and speaker lunches. l Sugar Smart with Public Health - Encouraging our kids to live healthier lifestyles by introducing health focused activities (such as treasure hunts and quiz’s) into our holiday programmes. l Working with Worthing Homes with the aim of delivering outreach classes within the local community. l Sensory Play area to be installed at Worthing Leisure Centre by May 2018. l Walking Football - Now a Sussex wide initiative with weekly practice taking place at Worthing Leisure Centre. l Walking Netball - Aimed at those with limited mobility providing both physical wellbeing and opportunities for social engagement.

Future Plans and Partnerships

l Sensory Garden - Looking to create a sensory garden at Field Place - working with groups such as MIND and Dementia Alliance. Bid to be submitted April 2018. l Cycling Without Age bid submitted to WSCC to run Trishaw bike rides aimed at elderly nursing home residents. Working in partnership with South Coast Bikes, Worthing Cycle Forum and WBC to deliver this. l Junior parkrun - We are looking to launch a new initiative in Worthing aimed at children aged between 4 and 14. l Beehive Project - We are investigating opportunities for hive integration at Splashpoint, WLC and Field Place. Working in partnership with FoodPioneers and a number of local schools and gardening groups. l We Are FoodPioneers - We are looking to run cookery workshops within our cafes.
