In my 20 years in real estate, I have met many people whose primary criteria when transacting is to attempt to time the market and hope to buy at the bottom and sell at the top; a very rewarding experience when timed perfectly. However, Allan Greenspan, with direct access to arguably one of the best research desks in the world testified before Congress in 2005 that he did not see any indication that there would be a national real estate correction outside of a few selected cities where home values had outpaced income growth. I would suggest that if Mr Greenspan can’t time the real estate market, most of us would be hard-pressed to. I don’t think it should matter much. Real estate is local, and generally a direct reflection of the local economy, and far more susceptible to local economic changes than national policy. Although a weekend may not seem like enough elsewhere, it’s plenty of time to explore the highlights of San Francisco and come away with a taste of the many culinary adventures, recreational activities and cultural attractions that abound.
At about six miles square, it’s easy to traverse the city in a day (see sidebar for some of the top stops for first-time visitors) Because my husband’s family hails from the Bay area, we’ve enjoyed sojourns into the city on a somewhat regular basis over the past several years As such, we’ve already done the “tourist thing,” so this trip, we decided to make our visit more of a relaxing stay highlighted by an amazing gourmet (and historical) experience at the Presidio Social Club (www.presidiosocialclub.com).

Because we have family friends who live in the area, we’ve been blessed to be able to visit the region fairly frequently, generally staying with our friends or in one of the nearby hotel properties.
But this year, because we were traveling with three adults and two young children, we decided a rental home would be a much more comfor table and convenient option.

The fully outfitted gourmet kitchen and dining room made mealtime so easy. There was an outdoor area with seating, garage parking for a small car (since we had a larger vehicle, we parked in the space right in front of the garage), which is virtually unheard of in the city, where you pay a premium for parking
The owner, Taso, was incredible to work with He was hyper-responsive to email inquiries and followed up with us after our stay to make sure it was everything we expected.
We can unequivocally say that we’ve been spoiled. After staying at this amazing property, we’ll be hard pressed to settle for anything less the next time we head to San Francisco Aside from the amenity, convenience of location and all the money we saved from eating in as opposed to dining out for every meal (as we end up doing when we stay at a hotel), renting this private home ended up being a more affordable option since we would have had to book at least two rooms to accommodate our group

Is the Rumor True? Will “Obamacare”

This rumor is not true. Medicare Advantage is not being eliminated. In fact, since the Affordable Care Act was signed into law in 2010, enrollment in these plans has risen from 24 percent of all Medicare beneficiaries to 28 percent. The quality of the plans available to consumers are getting better every year too it seems There's nothing in the law that cuts back the Medicare Advantage program in the sense of changing what plans are authorized, the only thing that's changing is the cost. Medicare Advantage plans had been getting paid a lot more than the traditional Medicare program, and the Affordable Care Act is slowly trying to reduce that.
Here's what's going on As of 2010, these plans (run by private insurance companies) were getting paid about 9 percent more per enrollee than original Medicare, which in turn cost the Medicare program an extra $8 9 billion that year, according to a new report from the Commonwealth Fund, a New York-based health policy research group "Everyone was paying higher Part B premiums to subsidize extra benefits for one in four beneficiaries," says David Lipschutz, policy attorney at Center for Medicare Advocacy in Washington, D.C. The Affordable Care Act is in the process of phasing out these overpayments. Until, by, 2017, Medicare Advantage plans will, (on average) , be getting paid about the same as original Medicare costs
But rather than roll back payments to all plans in a broad brush-stroke, the law takes a more delicate approach. For instance, it cuts funds for the plans that were getting the highest overpayments more severely than plans that were doing a better job containing costs. And it has also instituted a bonus system that awards extra money to plans with higher scores on quality of care and customer service Should you be worried that Medicare Advantage plans will economize by reducing your benefits? Nope, the plans are required to provide all Medicare benefits, so there's no way they can cut them That includes the free preventive services added to Medicare by the Affordable Care Act And Advantage plans that include a drug benefit are closing the doughnut hole just the same as stand-alone Part D drug plans. The only area where plans can even consider cutting back are for optional services such as dental and vision benefits

Its no secret prescription drug abuse has caused many deaths in the youth of America, especially in recent years.
