JASON SPATES Doheny Bike • Advertising Partner since 2020 We can tell when the new issue of South County Magazine arrives in mailboxes because our phones ring off the hook and we are slammed with new business. We have been extremely pleased with the response!

DONNA SCHUSTER South Coast Shutter and Shades • Advertising Partner since 2020 I was apprehensive about advertising during the pandemic, not knowing whether it would generate response. Since starting with South County Magazine in April 2020, we have been incredibly busy keeping up with the resulting calls, scheduled appointments and new clients! I believe being consistent in advertising is key. Thank you Jody for your loyalty and helping our business take off again!

STEPHANIE FRISCH Insurance Services 101 • Advertising Partner since 2011 The best business decision I ever made was to advertise in South County Magazine - I’m proud to say that I have been participating since the very first issue. I have gained several hundred clients over the last decade due to my ad, and several hundred more from the referrals of my ad clients. I have a steady flow of business all year long, and South County Magazine has a lot to do with that.

JOHN SCHRAB Morena Tile and Stone • Advertising Partner since 2017 Advertising in South County Magazine has been a total win! The response we have gotten with a full page ad and cover feature has been outstanding. Our goal was to let South OC know we are here and where they could find us, and the results have been more than we could have hoped for. Customers are continually bringing in the magazine saying “Wow, I did not know you guys were here, so glad we found you, your store is amazing with such great selections.” Jody is a pleasure to work with and her team does a fantastic job with our crazy cat ad ideas. A big thanks to Jody and her team for all their hard work and dedication to keeping it local!

is adamant when he says, “As long as the IRS keeps up with its annual “tax simplification” strategies, you will want to use a professional who understands the constantly changing tax and financial environment.” Peter stresses that “the start of the year is the perfect time for tax planning. It enables us to achieve a good sense of direction and work together with my undivided attention. This is true for any individual, small business, or corporation seeking to become more tax efficient and a better financial consumer.”

A CPA who helps you plan a SECURE FUTURE

ertified Public Accountant Peter D. Prescott is single-minded: “I strive to make each client as tax efficient as possible. Using a client’s entire finances as a framework, we establish major goals and then combine tax savings techniques and professional financial planning to enhance the growth of their money!” Peter’s background is impressive: A business degree from U.C. Berkeley, a Professional Financial Planning designation from U.C.L.A., a Masters in Taxation from Golden Gate University, large firm accounting experience at Price Waterhouse and the Personal Financial Specialist Designation (PFS) from the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Overwhelming technical expertise belie the fact that Peter is a people person. His clients appreciate his professional knowledge of course, but they love him for his down to earth sensibility, wit and humor. As a man who has participated in

public speaking venues, stand-up comedy and a few game shows, Peter loves life and is not only dedicated to his profession, but also maintaining a balance of work and play. His most important priority is his own family. His wife Margie is a homemaker and formerly a special education teacher in San Clemente. Having three sons, Peter understands that early planning to meet family goals is critical. Peter has been helping Southern Californians with their income tax returns, tax planning, and comprehensive financial planning needs for over 30 years. Peter

Knowledge of the tax laws is of little value unless they can be applied wisely to fully meet your needs. That is why Peter follows a comprehensive approach combining effective tax savings, advanced financial planning strategies, estate planning and professional investment methodologies. Why allow yourself to become anxious and stressed out about your taxes, retirement, college, or business planning? The best time to begin the process is now. There are still many actions that can be taken to save you money this year and be better positioned for the future. With Peter’s help you will benefit not only from his experience, but you’ll be able to relax a little more too! Call today to schedule a tax planning or tax return preparation meeting to take advantage of Peter’s New Client Offer.

Freedom from the Seat of an E-Bike with Doheny Bike

By Jody Robinson

In the last years of the 1800’s, there was an era-defining shift propagated by a steel steed on two wheels. The bicycle. Newspapers around the world commented on the fad, especially as it pertained to its most favorite audience: women. The Columbian, out of Pennsylvania, reported in 1895, “she is riding to greater freedom”.

lizabeth Cady Stanton declared that “woman is riding to suffrage on the bicycle.” Since the turn of the century, there have been ebbs and flows in the bicycle’s popularity: but nothing like the surge that we saw as the Covid-19 pandemic forced Americans into lockdown in the early months of 2020. In April, bike sales grew 75% over last year. No doubt much of the trend can be credited to the E-bike - the evolved and infinitely more exciting electric iteration of the traditional two-wheeler. Jason Spates, co-owner of the Dana Point-based Doheny Bike, couldn’t let the opportunity pass him by. Like Ms. Stanton though, he saw the new business as a mobility store: dedicated to get his clients outside, active, and smiling again. “We recognized the opportunity to give back, to contribute to our community that shaped our childhood, and it felt natural to encourage mobility and personal freedom when the pandemic had taken so much of it away.” Jason, and his business partner Micah Miering, are a couple of local Dana Point dads, lucky enough to have lived near the world-famous Doheny Beach surf spot their entire lives. “Our freedom was nearly unlimited as kids in the 1970’s and 80’s - we

wanted our kids to be as mobile as we were.” The idea of access and freedom have long been associated with the bicycle, and Doheny Bike believes in sending its patrons out on adventures to places unknown, where they might not have ventured before. They set out to provide an affordable solution for everyday mobility. "With the average buyer's budget in mind, we wanted a functional riding experience that is not trendy, awkward and limited to your hometown," says Micah. "Creating the agility of

the Fold N’ Go anywhere design, we have provided a solution to buyers that want to travel in a smaller car with electric bikes and ultimately extend their outdoor adventures." As parents, Jason and Micah stress the importance of safety, and encourage all riders to be over 16, along with the importance of sizing the bike out, wearing a helmet, and meeting minimum requirements to ride the bikes safely on the road. “It should be fun, but we’re also thinking beyond fun, to community, individual expression, and the ability

The owners’ young sons

to remain mobile when so many of us are trapped in stasis because of the pandemic.” On a single charge, you can ride up to 50 miles. Put a basket on the back and you’re ready for the store or farmer’s market. “I wanted something better than traffic in my car and I just knew that the options I had to help my community needed to be affordable and reliable.” With a background in commercial truck leasing and loans, and an early pandemic ride on his nephew’s electric scooter, genius was born. “There’s something about being out in the fresh air that made a great start to the day.” The recent cycling boom couldn’t agree more.

The Massage Associates Celebrating 20 Years in South OC! By Jody Robinson Cover Photo by Diana Schmitt, Accent Portraits by Diana

There is a beautiful book on writing penned by Haruki Murakami called “What I Talk About When I Talk About Running.” From the title, you’d think it was a book on running.

nd it is. But it is also a deep meditation on the act of getting a pure thought on paper, and the intersectional discipline it takes to be good at both: running, and writing. The truly standout feature of the book is its seamlessness. Learning and absorbing without noticing it happen. Michelle Bryant, owner of The Massage Associates in San Juan Capistrano, knows a thing or two about getting results without her clients seeing the process. Born and raised in Southern California, Michelle got her degree in Biology from UC San Diego, and moved to Orange County when she got married. In February, she’ll be celebrating a special event, and if you guessed her wedding anniversary, well, almost. The Massage Associates have been in business since February of 2001, and while the impact of COVID-19 has put a bit of a damper on celebrations, Michelle and team are more dedicated than ever to providing best in class service, inviting new clients into the community, and helping people feel pain free.

At the outset, “there was me, and one other massage therapist,” says Michelle. “Then we added another, and another as our clientele expanded. We now have 6 massage therapists and specialize in deep tissue, therapeutic 12

“The relationships built over the years (at Massage Associates) help determine the offerings, the order, and the onus to come back ... it’s dedicated, deep, and disciplined time spent on your health.” massage.” But like Murakami talking about writing when he is talking about running, what she means is that they offer massage as a vehicle to developing relationships with their clients that extend well beyond a typical therapist visit. They specialize in community pain management. “It’s the only way to help you feel better if your needs are known we can tailor our massage to fit.” I would venture to say that the majority of businesses offering massage also offer a litany of spa treatments: sauna, facials, skincare treatments, etc. But the beauty of Michelle’s service is that they only offer massage. “We want to specialize in one form of treatment, and do it the best we can.” Need a deep tissue focus on your shoulders but some reflexology on your feet? No problem. Hot stone to relax, with a light stretch and some

CBD cream for that recurrent sports injury? “We can do that. And we all work together to make sure that even if one time you can’t see your regular therapist, our other therapists can see the detailed notes on what you like or don’t like so that we can take great care of you.” The relationships they have built help determine the offerings, the order, and the onus to come back. It isn’t some cookie cutter massage. It’s dedicated, deep, and disciplined time spent on your health, and it is available to you even now, during a global pandemic, due to the focus and flexibility of the team in place. “In 2019 we received designation as a health care service provider business so we were allowed to stay open during these wild days of the COVID crisis," says Michelle. "People are in

pain, people are stressed. And we’ve taken all the CDC precautions and made all the modifications to our office so that our clients feel safe, comfortable, and most importantly, so that nothing interrupts our goal of getting you to total health.” Michelle and her team do regular temperature checks, require masks, space clients out to allow for (even) more cleaning time, and even went so far as to offer at-home massage for those who don’t feel comfortable coming to the office. The experience is total: rich, and revelatory. Much like Murakami’s ode to the road he runs, and that which he writes, this 20th year for Michelle and her team bring constant challenges to be met, and yet also reminds us what we have been celebrating all along: the seamless triumph and trial. An end to pain and the work that gets us there. The Massage Associates 31952 Camino Capistrano San Juan Capistrano (949) 489-7924 TheMassageAssociates.com 13

It’s A Milestone For Sure…

never thought I’d be turning 65…..” If I had a dollar for every time that sentence has been uttered in my office I’d be looking at a really tall stack of one dollar bills.

I’m told by my clients that are new to Medicare that they feel so fortunate to have me “hold their hand” and help them through the process. I will “hold your hand” too if you want my assistance as you face this big milestone. Much of my consultation time is going through the appropriate steps of someone just getting their Medicare active. The government is trying to make it an easier process. If you have a computer you can enroll in Medicare online by going to Medicare. gov. They are continually trying to make that website more user friendly. Once you’re on the website just click on “Apply for Medicare” on the lower left hand side of the webpage. And it takes you right to the Social Security website page and in a bright blue box it reads, “Apply for Medicare Only”. Then just follow the steps and you’ll be done in no time!

This new location provides the community with direct access to Hoag. Visit hoag.org/sanclemente to learn more.

You’ll want to start this process 3 months before your birthday month to make sure you’re good to go on the first day of the month that you turn 65 (unless you’re born on the 1st, then you get to go on Medicare one month early). Medicare alone is not enough, and that’s where I come in to help you understand your Medicare options. Medicare Advantage, Medicare Supplements and Medicare Drug plans are complex and the fact that you can have my knowledge (at no cost to you) to help you decide the right choice for you at this milestone in your life should give you peace of mind too. 15

“After taking pilates and yoga through my 30’s, I started the certification process to train them both," she says. "Going through the certification process led to some important realizations about my trajectory in life, and where I wanted to end up. Not one option included working just to work, or simply to bring home a paycheck. I needed to help people: to help them get healthy.”

The Perfect Workout: 20 Minutes to Reverse the Effects of Aging By Jody Robinson

ecently, I, much like many Americans headed into their mid-50’s, realized that it was going to take much more than a brisk walk or a high intensity interval gym session to hold onto the muscle mass I’d worked so hard to attain, then maintain over the years. Also like many Americans, I spent too much time and money attempting to uncover the one magical combination of spinach salads, green smoothies, and exercise that would help me achieve that increasingly elusive goal. Adults who don’t add a weight regimen into their weekly workout routine lose an average of a half pound of lean muscle each year after the age of 25. Women and men in their 50s, 60s, 70s and beyond who are striving to stay strong, avoid eventual falls, and keep up their energy levels sometimes need a little extra help. That's where LeAnne Fuller and The Perfect Workout comes in. More than 20 years in practice, The Perfect Workout is LeAnne’s long-time purpose come to fruition. 16

Sometimes, slow is fast, and the road LeAnne was on led her straight to The Perfect Workout’s doorstep a week later. Taking a step from training to running studios was simple, and from there to hiring trainers and leading certifications a no brainer. “My capacity to educate grew and grew, and thrilled me as I saw clients get stronger with every class. Folks started avoiding falls, having more energy to play with their children and grandchildren. It has been unbelievably satisfying.” From Facility Manager of Redondo Beach to Regional Manager of Dallas, Houston, LA, SF, Orange County and San Diego, LeAnne has seen a broad range of clients, and an even more amazing spectrum of results. Specializing in 1-1 personal training, The Perfect Workout takes participants through slow motion strength training, engaging more muscle fibers than a typical workout. Reducing momentum provides a bigger challenge in a smaller time frame: so you can get the results you want in two 20-minute workouts a week instead of hours in the gym day after day. “Each exercise is performed by lifting weights for approximately 10 seconds and lowering the weight for another 10 seconds. You reach ideal intensity quickly- and then move on!” Practicing safe, efficient movement allows LeAnne to guarantee you'll be stronger in 12 weeks and should see appreciable results after the first six weeks. Built for men and women who don’t want a traditional gym experience, or have never worked out but want to be healthy and strong, The Perfect Workout is, well, the perfect workout.

Hammer & Nails Grooming for Guys By Jody Robinson

There has long been an unfortunate stigma attached to men getting manicures or pedicures. The “salon” is for women. Seemingly, all dudes need is a quick buzz cut or a close shave.

f course, proper pampering isn’t gendered. And surprise, you aren’t any less of a ‘real man’ if you don’t constantly have sawdust or motor oil under your fingernails. Mike & Beverly Shepherd, Owners of the first Hammer & Nails Franchise in Orange County, premier full-service grooming shop for men couldn’t agree more. But of course, that doesn’t mean your next MANicure has to be in a petunia-scented, white-walled, home-shopping network-watching salon. No. What Mike is offering is ... quite bit more. “We’ve built a man cave, and it has everything you’d expect," he says. "Each client gets their own TV and remote, top-of-the line noise cancelling headphones, a complimentary beverage (of the frosty kind).” Lounge away 45 or 90 minutes in an overstuffed leather chair or a buttery soft all-black classic barber throne while the staff at Hammer gets your 18

Open since November 2018, Mike’s team offers straight-razor shaves, facial waxing, and even quick beard or neck trimming for those in-between times. Upping the service ante even further right now during Covid-19, the crew are prepared for anything, practicing elevated cleaning and sanitizing routines, and limiting certain

“We’re 100% focused on you. That’s why we’re here.” He and his wife Beverly first came across the concept of Hammer & Nails on Shark Tank, TV’s hit entrepreneurial reality show. “We wanted to start something that we could both be passionate about that would allow us to work together,” so the pair purchased three franchise li-

Art Gallery &Framing censes for Orange County and the dream was born. “Now, be it during a pandemic or not, your most difficult decision when you come hang out with us is what cable program to watch or which premium beverage to enjoy.” Relax without all the astringent smell you find at a normal salon, and add in instead the natural musk of Macallen®, cedar, leather, and steel. An incredibly cool custom ‘57-Chevy lighted door panel greets every client, and the warm reception beyond makes even one’s very first grooming experience a welcome one. Hammer & Nails is a haven for men who are looking to combine the absolute necessity of a haircut or beard trim with what Mike calls “man-cave nirvana”; all at a surprisingly low cost for such a luxury experience.

he stepped in with a solution. “Usually people think they just have to be replaced, but that isn’t the case! We have a ton of experience with all kinds of doors, no matter how old, what material, or what brand.”

Performance & Professionalism:

Dr. Slide-Door By Jody Robinson

It’s a new year. I, along with everyone I know, made resolutions: mostly hoping that this year would be better than the last, but some that genuinely reflected an optimistic mindset. Said mindset led my husband and I to craft one that hadn't topped our previous lists: fix broken things.

ike most everyone we know, our family has spent considerably more time at home these past months - and knocking around the house all day, we've made a priority

of a dizzying array of home improvement projects - both indoors and out - that we'd previously deferred. Turns out, we're not alone. A common refrain among our friend group? Countless home appliances to be replaced. Garden and landscaping projects to embark on. And a rather surprising number of sliding glass doors in need of repair in our collective Southern California homes. Enter Shy Hadan. Known as Dr. SlideDoor, Shy's father was in the business of selling sliding doors, but when he saw that there was no one to fix them,

If hauling open your sliding door requires Herculean strength, it’s likely you’re experiencing rollers with dirt and dust buildup so they don’t roll the way they used to. Over the years, it’s common for the rollers to wear to the point that you may actually be dragging the entire weight of the sliding door across the track, which causes even more damage and drag every time you do it. Whether your door is modern or ancient, made of aluminum, vinyl or wood … all you have to do to “remedy your rolling troubles” is schedule a free inspection. A tech will come out to see if the components can be fixed or replaced, and then...fix it. With over 25 years of industry experience, Dr. Slide-Door is the number one chosen sliding glass door repair service in Southern California. What sets them apart? Each member of Dr. Slide Door’s team arrives with everything you’ll need on site. “Your sliding door professional will replace the parts right down to the rollers, leaving your door feeling weightless and good as new. You’ll be amazed at how easily your door slides open and closed.” With parts made in Germany, you can be assured that your “new” door could last another 20 years: plenty of time to tackle out the rest of your resolutions. We reimagine your space to ensure each facet is maximally useful and beautiful.” Menekshe’s goals for each client are entrenched in the values of transparency and quality. Being organized, meeting deadlines, and being present at the job site are all extremely important to Benni’s team-and makes all the difference for their clients.

The Menekshe Group Where Imagination Meets Renovation

“We have more freedom to pivot if we need to; make on-thejob decisions about material selection and designs,” she says. “Each moment we spend with you decreases the stress of the process by half.” Best of all? It lessens the overall cost of the projects as well. Turns out, those who can, do; but also show the best how it’s done.

here’s an old adage from a George Bernard Shaw play, ‘Man and Superman’: “Those who can, do; those who can’t teach.” Essentially saying that it is easier to teach someone how to go about a task than actually do the task itself. While that might be true in some professions, there is something to be said for a general contractor (GC) who can do, and teach. Benni Bayat is one such GC. A trained interior designer, Benni realized when she was going through the stress of remodeling her own home that finding a trustworthy, hardworking contractor was harder than she thought. “I had a hard time finding a really good, reliable GC who understood my concerns.” It was enough to motivate her to start a company of her own. “I wanted to ease for my clients the challenges and hassles I’d 22

faced during the (home renovation process).” The Menekshe Group specializes in myriad services, from bathroom and kitchen remodels to

would benefit from the more traditional listing method, in order to maximize their home’s value. In keeping with their original mission of helping seniors transition into their next home with ease, SHPP has launched their new listing service, Simply Sell.

Senior-Focused Niche Real Estate Firm Provides Options for Home Sellers How does life look in the seventh, eighth or ninth decade? As one enters this period of life, adorned with wrinkles, heirlooms and too much yard work, there are countless concerns to consider. Selling your home, or relying on your adult children to do so, shouldn’t be one of them.

ob Perkins and sister Corinne Ross, founders of San Diegobased Senior Home Purchase Program (SHPP), know this all too well. After a decade of residential real estate investing, personal experience led them to the realization that the traditional home selling process was extremely overwhelming and difficult for the 55+ demographic, and they saw an opportunity to help remedy this situation.

“We watched our grandparents reach the point of no longer being able to live alone,” said Rob. “We saw the effort it took from our entire family to support them through the transition of selling long-time homes and lining up new residences, calling on family to become experts in real estate, organizing, cleaning and caretaking.” “We founded SHPP in 2015 with the mission of offering seniors a simple way to transition into senior living,” said Perkins. SHPP is a direct pur24

chase program, in which SHPP buys the home directly from senior homeowners, at a nominal discount, and with no fees to the seller. The program allows the seller to quickly and easily transition into their next home, without any prep work, repairs, or costs. As SHPP has become popular in the San Diego senior living market, the service has successfully provided a quick and streamlined home selling solution for many seniors and their families with homes which have seen better days, and perhaps need a little TLC. As word has spread about SHPP’s unique offering, the company has expanded operations into Orange County, and is continuing to evolve with market conditions. Perkins and Ross have recognized that in addition to their direct purchase service, there is also a need for an “easy list and sell” option for those clients who

“Simply Sell focuses on a streamlined listing process designed to eliminate many of the inconveniences involved in the more traditional home sale,” explains Perkins. “We provide the seller with our expert valuation and pricing strategy with the goal of selling quickly and for maximum value. In addition, we manage all aspects of the home sale, including preparations with no upfront cost, and we will pay for $2500 of packing and moving expenses, as well as coordinating the logistics of the move,” he adds. An initial home visit is scheduled with either service, to gather necessary data about the home. The team then copiously does their homework on the property and the market. Another meeting is scheduled where SHPP presents their absolute best offer on the home, as well as the listing option, and openly discusses which would be the best choice for the client’s situation. Perkins and Ross emphasize that they will continue to deliver on their promise to serve seniors with integrity and transparency, regardless of which service is chosen by the client. “We are in the business of helping people pilot an emotional and financially important decision, and we do not take this lightly,” said Ross. “We encourage our customers to discuss our no-pressure options with family and trusted advisors before they make a decision.”

serve handmade, thin, crispy, flaky crust pizza. I had “Make Your Own Pizza” with prosciutto and arugula, complete with a soft flurry of mozzarella. You know, the kind of pie you sip wine with, reflecting on the old country while a hot steam of freshness rises poetically around you. Or, as others put it: one heck of a tasty pizza. For heartier appetites, I recommend the Filetto Toscano (USDA Premium choice filet mignon medallions pan roasted and served with a sweet red onion, shallots, Chianti reduction and melted fontina cheese, and favorites like the Rigatoni Casa Brio characterized by grilled chicken breast, caramelized onions, roasted garlic, baby spinach, cremini mushrooms, sweet baby peas and fresh basil topped with fresh buffalo mozzarella.

have to admit - I’m pretty particular when it comes to deciding where to go for dinner on date night, out for a family meal or simply stepping out to enjoy a glass of fine wine and live entertainment after work. Lucky for me, I live in Dana Point and am only a stone’s throw from a popular eatery that dishes up all this and delicious Italian cuisine to boot: Brio Tuscany Grill. This place isn’t the kind of establishment that has huge, bedazzled lights pointing to it with acrobatic sign holders out front. This restaurant respects itself in a quaint location at 24050 Camino Del Avion in Dana Point. If you didn’t know about it, you might miss it driving by. But after you read this, I guarantee you’ll make it a point to seek it out.

For starters, the Antipasto Italiano Platter arrives with an array of flavorful favorites - Prosciutto di Parma, artisan salame, fresh buffalo mozzarella, Tuscan olives, grilled artichoke hearts, roasted bell peppers and toasted ciabatta bread. Yum! A seafood aficionado? Try the Mare Platter which is made for sharing: Buttermilk battered calamari fritti, seared Ahi tuna and blue shrimp scampi. I love the wood-fired pizzas here. Selanne Steak Tavern

Gourmet Takeaway Cuisine By Jody Robinson

In spite of the current “on again, off again” climate with regard to city and state restrictions on indoor and outdoor dining, there are ample opportunities for local foodies and regular folks alike to partake in gourmet cuisine enjoyed in picturesque environs.

f you are longing for a change of scenery or simply craving superb cuisine, the award-winning Selanne Steak Tavern in Laguna Beach serves up succulent steaks and chops, superb poultry, game and seafood for gourmet takeaway. Dine at home, picnic in the park or spread out on your favorite stretch of sand. Located in a historic brick-lined 1934 cottage on Pacific Coast Highway, this handsome neighborhood eatery’s re-

laxing veranda proved to be the ideal locale for a recent date night. At the time of this writing, wait service was not available, but that didn’t deter from a lovely early evening sampling the wonderfully flavorful fare at a table on the restaurant’s covered patio. Selanne Steak Tavern guests may order meals from the restaurant’s To-Go menu and dine on the outdoor veranda daily between 2 and 8 p.m. Dishes are provided on upscale

plastic plates with plastic silverware. Guests may order cocktails from the Cocktails To-Go menu which are presented in mason jars or order a bottle of wine from the restaurant’s awardwinning wine list - guests are provided with plastic cups to pour their own drinks. Tables and chairs are sanitized between seatings by restaurant staff. To order and dine onsite, the restaurant suggests to call in orders 20 minutes prior to arrival. My meat-and-potatoes husband was in seventh heaven with the cookedto-perfection 12 oz. filet mignon hand-cut and flavorfully enhanced with a smoked trumpet mushroom and cipollini garnish, truffle marrow butter and bordelaise sauce, a saltbaked potato with all the fixings and a wedge salad of baby iceberg, baby tomato, bacon bits, chives and Point Reyes Blue Cheese dressing. For my part, I love all things seafood. I’m a huge fan of salmon and have enjoyed a variety of preparations on restaurant menus throughout South OC over the years. But Selanne’s Nordic Blu Salmon was definitely worth writing home about - paired with lump blue crab salad and marcona almond romesco. Until restrictions are lifted to again allow for indoor dining, it’s great to know there remains a unique alternative for an evening out defined by award-winning cuisine and a most lovely milieu. member new language. It also aids in the first consideration of the development of language in the Montessori environment which is the enrichment of a child’s vocabulary. Other than the three period lessons, language can also be enriched through the child practicing spoken language in the Montessori environment through daily conversations and storytelling. A child perhaps best learns proper syntax through practicing and hearing spoken language.

Language in a Primary Montessori Classroom Written by LePort Montessori Primary Head Teacher Mrs. Jillian Snyder Photo credit: Richard Unten, LePort Montessori

Have you ever noted how it seems a child at a certain age can learn new words unconsciously and without fatigue, unnoticeable to himself and to those around him?

his is known in Montessori as a sensitive period. It is a time period when a child seems to quickly absorb new things without much perceived effort, when they seem to naturally soak up new information like a sponge. A child’s insatiable desire for words in this stage is a reflection on their need to explore and adapt to their surroundings. During a child’s sensitive period for language they may continuously demand to learn the names of all the objects in their environment. By the time children enter the Primary Montessori classroom, typically at age three, they can already verbally express themselves and have a growing knowledge of words. The Primary Guide’s role then is to aid the language development that has already started and continue it. The child will discover and explore language through engaging with spoken lan42

guage in the environment and the classroom materials. This combination enables the child to enrich their vocabulary, freely explore language more in-depth, and gain a greater ability to communicate. The language material and classroom conversations provide children with a wealth of vocabulary needed to express themselves, properly construct sentences and communicate successfully. At LePort Montessori, following the Montessori Method, one of the key parts of the development of language is through the informal language lessons and the three period lesson. The three period lesson gives the child a chance to be introduced to new terms (at most three at a time), identify them (pointing them out when asked), and finally recall them on their own. By presenting new language in this engaging manner a child is best able to become acquainted with and re-

To further assist the child’s understanding, vocabulary is often taught with a tangible item to help the child attach the knowledge about the meaning of the words. Whenever possible real objects related to language are used to help represent the language being given in a concrete manner. For instance, when the vocabulary involved with the names of the parts of a plant is being taught a real plant may be used to relate to the language. When this is not possible picture cards can be used. Building a strong and diverse base of vocabulary during the child’s sensitive period for language acquisition and constantly expanding upon it is important as it becomes the key element to naturally developing a child’s reading and writing skills.

St. Anne School

Explore your gifts. Discover your passion. Envision your future. Let’s face it, this year has been anything but normal. Although this school year looks different than others, if you could walk onto St. Anne’s campus in Laguna Niguel you would likely hear students practicing musical instruments or singing at weekly Mass being livestreamed into their classrooms.

ou might witness eighth-grade students sitting outside, engrossed in their laptops designing their own websites in their Navigating Our World class, secondgraders discovering their ancestry by dressing in period costume for Ellis Island Day, or preschool students exploring together in their outdoor classroom. In previous years you might see a bus in the parking lot loading up fifth-grade students for a field studies trip to Astro Camp, but this year you might see parents filling their cars with donated supplies for a campus ministry project.

Next school year, St. Anne students can continue discovering their passions through the resumption of afterschool programs such as an award-winning show choir, after-school sports, instrumental music classes, a robust performing arts program, Chess, and Future Problem Solvers.

This year St. Anne School has reimagined how they provide students with a learning experience that continues to offer opportunities for exploration and discovery. With strict safety protocols in place, the school has offered in-person instruction since late August, with an online option, Knights Live!, for students who feel more comfortable learning from home.

Whether educating students online or in-person, St. Anne School provides an education where students can explore their gifts, discover their passions, and envision their future.

The devoted teachers at St. Anne are trained in differentiated instruction, using strategies that stimulate deeper thinking and discussion with students. Additionally, a dedicated student sup-

Another patient, Tommie K. of Mission Viejo, echoes Stacey's assessment: "Dr. Manesh and his entire staff are true professionals. The technology used in his office and the procedures are the latest in dental implant innovations."

A Smile a Day For the Rest of Your Life with Laguna Hills Denti & Mission Dental Implant Center By Jody Robinson

not only the basics of dental hygiene, but real regeneration.

“Floss the teeth you want to keep,” has been the dentist’s adage of choice, well, forever. But just like “an apple a day keeps the doctor away,” it isn’t necessarily something one actually spends time processing. Until that is, you end up in the padded dentist’s chair and discover something amiss, or, like happens to so many of us who are losing bone density as we age, finding that our teeth just aren’t quite as strong as they used to be.

“We can augment the jaw bone, or place non-metal ceramic implants which are more bio-compatible than metal," says Dr. Manesh. "Our aim is to serve our clients with maximal results and negligible costs.”

For Dr. Al Manesh, D.M.D, making himself accessible to those in need of periodontics was more calling than career, yet his 20-plus years of service speak to his ability to combine both into one practice. After studying chemistry at Cal Poly Pomona, he went on to earn his doctorate in dentistry from Oregon Health & Science University, after which he completed a three-year specialty program at Louisiana State University. All that schooling showed him the great need for doctors willing to provide 46

Most of the practice is covered by insurance, and his offices - one in Mission Viejo and the other in Laguna Hills - are registered with Medicare PPO - to cover dental surgical treatment, making out-of-pocket pricing minimal. Gum surgery and dental implants are the tip of the proverbial treatment iceberg, with all the typical cleanings, veneers, root canals, bonding, scaling, sealing, and root planing: all of which can help to prevent more serious gingival infection. Technology employed in Dr. Manesh's practices include 3-D CT scan, digital imaging, ozone therapy and laser therapy LANAP. "I would highly recommend Dr. Manesh for any type of dental surgery, especially implants," says Sta-

You might not ever hear Dr. Manesh or anyone at his practice offer that most common of medical adages, offering instead the premium in care and customer service, so hopefully, you never have to really think hard about keeping those pearly whites for years to come. It’s A Milestone For Sure… By Stephanie Frisch

“I never thought I’d be turning 65…..” If I had a dollar for every time that sentence has been uttered in my office I’d be looking at a really tall stack of one dollar bills.

owadays you apply for Medicare on the Social Security website (or there’s a number to call in to). This is only if you’re not taking Social Security early (prior to 66 and a few months, you’ll get your Medicare card automatically if you are doing so). Once you apply you receive a letter in a few weeks from Social Security saying they’ve received your application, and it was approved. Then a second letter comes and actually gives you your Medicare number and that letter then tells you that you’ll be receiving your Medicare card in several weeks. This is a big milestone financially for most because of the cost of their health insurance if they are paying for it privately. Most can hardly wait to start saving money (they typically pay close to $1000 a month for their current plan that has a lot of co-pays and a deductible in the few thousands). Once you get your “Original Medicare” card (paper, red, white and blue with a random alpha-number combination and a Part A and Part B effective date on it) you have choices to make. The majority of people who I meet with want me to enroll them in a Medicare Advantage plan after learning about all of the great benefits and learning that it has no premium at all. That’s right, zero premium. All you have to do is pay your Part B premium to the government. Better yet, almost all of your medical care has zero co-pays. Even if you’re hospitalized you won’t pay anything. You have financial peace of mind knowing you’ll never need to be worried about high medical bills again. It’s the only positive side of turning 65 I’m told. I’m also told by my clients that are new to Medicare that they feel so for48

tunate to have me “hold their hand” and help them through the process. I will “hold your hand” too if you want my assistance as you face this big milestone. Much of my consultation time is going through the appropriate steps of someone just getting their Medicare active. This really has nothing to do with my job because I’m an insurance broker, not a government employee. But, this seems to be the most daunting step for most that I meet with. The government is trying to make it an easier process. If you have a computer you can enroll in Medicare online by going to Medicare.gov. They are continually trying to make that website more user friendly. Once you’re on the website just click on “Apply for Medicare” on the lower left hand side of the webpage. And it takes you right to the Social Secu-

rity website page and in a bright blue box it reads, “Apply for Medicare Only”. Then just follow the steps and you’ll be done in no time!

Why Repipe when you can

Lead-Free, Leak-Free Pipe Protection By Jody Robinson

It is safe to say that I know nothing about pipes. I know a little about drywall, and some about framing; my husband has his general contractor’s license so I’ve picked up a few nuggets of knowledge over the years - albeit in conversation, not in practice.

ipes, however, are a complete mystery. I have family who live on the East Coast, where pipes seem to burst with some degree of frequency in the winter, but that is the extent of my experience via six degrees of separation. Since our family moved into our “new” home in San Juan Capistrano a few years ago, we have since become something of an expert on experts: those who do and don’t know anything about pipes. There are a bunch of things I can now catch you up on: leaks, sprinkler lines, lead testing. But truly, all you need to know is this: In many cases, ePIPE can have your pipes restored the same day without displacing you from your home. Topping my list of folks I’d call expert, ePIPE has been in business since 1999. With over 40 international and US-based patents, the company has contracts with the US Department of Defense, several counties across the States, schools, HOA’s, and thousands of individual homeowners nationwide. Jason Houck, National Sales Director notes “twenty years ago this process was developed to be more convenient, less destructive, longer lasting, and healthier. Now it’s a patented, proven process used around the globe.” Traditional systems wreak havoc on a home, tearing up floors, walls, and ceilings. To get to the pipe, you have to get everything else out of the way: and then to replace the pipe, you have to remove what is there. “Instead of re-piping, we restore pipes in place. Many homes can be completed in a day, with the water going back on in a number of hours.” 50

Pool piping, fire sprinkler systems, water lines - ePIPE deals with it all. They’ll even test for lead and remediate as a LeadSmart® Service provider. Any number of factors can lead to corrosion in a system, often in as little as two years after installation. Any number of factors can lead to pinhole or slab leaks. So what happens next? If your pipes were simply failing due to changing water chemistry, perhaps you’re wondering if there is a better pipe? Turns out the restoration of your pressurized system can be as simple as drying, cleaning and applying ePIPE's patented epoxy coating. “The cleaning process prepares the internal pipe surface for proper bonding,” says Jason. “A bit like sanding before you paint.” In researching what ePIPE has to offer in terms of the process, I don’t see the word drilling, or destruction, or demolition anywhere. Taking care of

a problem once it begins is one thing, but ensuring that you won’t have that problem for years down the road is entirely different. Restored piping protects against corroding and pitting, in turn reducing copper and lead leaching. “Because there is no need to destroy walls, ceilings, or floors, you save a significant amount of money in reconstruction costs,” says Jason. “I’ll keep saying it: we do the work without the mess and expense.” Ranked in the top 1% of over 300,000 California contractors, ePIPE is here to ensure your pipes deliver the way they were made to. That’s really all I need to know.

The Proof is in the Paint with

Photography of Jeff McCabe by Lana Farfan, Caught in the Moment Photography

Ralph Waldo Emerson famously said “who you are speaks so loudly I cannot hear what you’re saying.” Keeping this quote in mind has served me well over the years, particularly in choosing friends … and when seeking out the services of professionals. In my opinion, integrity isn’t a word heard often enough in the business world. Competitive, certainly.

ut unfortunately phrases like “bottom-line oriented,” “unscrupulous,” even “cutthroat” have cropped up in the vernacular when hearing home improvement gone wrong stories from fellow homeowners. That’s why it was so refreshing to come across Jeff McCabe and his Orange County-based One Way Painting. In business since 1976, Jeff and his team serve all of the OC and specialize in interior and exterior residential and commercial painting. They swear by the rules of professionalism: “no cutting corners. No cheap materials. We pay attention to every detail, and never call a job complete until the customer is completely satisfied.” Some might call it good Christian values. Others might say it’s simply good

business. But for the last 42 years, working from the heart has earned One Way Painting such a respected reputation in the industry that the vast majority of their work comes through repeat customers or referrals from repeat customers. The company’s success isn’t merely rooted in customer service though. Boasting a superior knowledge of available product on the market and hiring the most professional crews in the business also goes a long way. “Our reputation speaks for itself; but if it didn’t, we have 16 satisfied employees on our permanent payroll who would put a hand

up in defense of the standards we set,” says Jeff. Standards which were born and bred through a commitment to ethical business practices and hard work. In 2001, Jeff teamed up with seasoned professional Ron Bartz as a journeyman, then took over the company when Ron retired, and has been growing it ever since. In 2009, Jeff took the pair of three-man crews and expanded the operation to encompass six crews, two office staff, and a project manager who oversees jobs, right alongside the man with the plan himself. “We currently have four trucks on the road and I’d like a full fleet someday. I’d like to leave a legacy for my daughters, and that means more than just cans of paint and a warehouse full of equipment and materials.” To Jeff, it means taking care of his employees, taking care of his family: taking care of business. The hope is that One Way Painting becomes a household

name, for its quality of work and quality of values. My husband and I can happily attest to both. When we moved into our home in San Juan Capistrano five years ago, we acquired quotes for exterior painting from several contractors, but were particularly impressed with Jeff and his crew. Prior to starting work at our home, Jeff came by in person to go over what the job would entail and answered all of our questions. His team showed up right on

time the first day - and each subsequent day - and at the end of each day everything was cleaned up before they left. “We pride ourselves on working with a team of long-term employees - we do not hire off the street,” says Jeff. “We guarantee our work and do not require payment till the job is completed and the customer is completely pleased with our work.”

Jeff and his crew delivered on these promises and more than exceeded our expectations BEFORE - the result was outstanding work, a job completed on time and on budget and defined by unparalleled customer service (Kelly in his office was hyper-responsive to our inquiries during the estimating process and followed up immediately upon completion of the job to ensure that we were satisfied with the results and our overall experience of working with One Way Painting). We were so pleased with the work that when we decided to update AFTER our kitchen by painting our cabinets and adding hardware (the job is scheduled to start two weeks from the date of this writing so look for a future testimonial feature), we were confident that One Way Painting would be the one and only call we would need to make.

Their attention to detail is found from start to finish. For exterior projects, they begin by power washing to clean and remove any loose paint, mildew or mold. Then the patching: with stucco, trenching around the foundations and priming with an acrylic. They’ll treat your wood siding, eaves, fascia, windows. Main doors, garage doors, trim. Even wrought iron, or other specialty surfaces like patio covers and fences. Most work depends on the client’s preference: semi-gloss, hi-gloss enamel, acrylic, or oil finish. Inside walls see flat, matte, eggshell, satin, semi, or hi-gloss. If you have natural wood cabinets and they need refinishing, One Way’s crew will see to it that they look new again. Also licensed and bonded as commercial painters, Jeff’s crew has been making businesses and their buildings look new again for 42 years. With a free on-site estimate, your custom needs are sure to have a custom solution. No deposits required, and “no surprises along the way,” Jeff is quick to add. “I think at the end of the day what sets us apart is taking our time with each and every customer that comes our way,” says Jeff. “We run a business like every person we interact with is family.” They may not be the cheapest out there, but then that wouldn’t fly in Emerson’s eyes, and not in Jeff’s either. “Our business is based on the Christian ethic of treating every customer with honesty and integrity. Every job is done ‘as unto the Lord.’ Does this mean we’re perfect? No. It does mean that we strive to do the best painting job possible.”

Feed Your Body with Feed CBD “Our need will be the real creator,” Plato famously wrote in his Socratic dialogue, Republic. In layman’s terms? Necessity is the mother of invention. Crystal Rae, Certified Clinical Herbalist and Co-owner of FEED CBD: living proof. A longtime sufferer of eczema, she began experimenting with homemade tinctures and balms early on. Finding her way into cannabis culture wasn’t a far reach, as the herb has wellknown healing properties, like many other medicinal plants. Now, as a self-proclaimed “huge advocate” of skin-based education, Crystal combines medicinal herbs for maximum synergy and potency. After suffering from the side effects of cortisone creams and prednisone, Crystal took to infusing herbs and cannabis into olive oil and applying it to her skin. With great results. Transferring her success into crafting custom formula massage creams and other skin care products for her clients from plants she grew and harvested herself, Crystal found herself on the path to becoming a Certified Clinical Herbalist. A couple winning turns in the Emerald’s Cup Topical category later, she and a business partner began Feed CBD. Follow 54

“Your skin is incredibly important to total body health,” she says. “What goes on, goes in.” Since your skin clocks in at the largest organ in the human body, Crystal will be the first to tell you that your hair and body products should bolster your endocannabinoid system. “That’s why we call our brand Feed CBD: our products feed your skin.” Using only culinary grade ingredients, Feed’s core philosophy leads them to crafting safe, sustainable, organic, non-toxic creams that “cause no harm to people or the planet. We use old-world alchemy methods, and unrefined, organic plant oils to harness the healing power of medicinal herbs. Transforming CBD hemp flowers into 4 different extracts is no small feat, but it is our pleasure to combine them into healing remedies for your body and soul.” For pain, for your skin, or for your sexual pleasure, Feed’s products stimulate blood flow, soothe pain, take care of swelling, help to repair damaged skin, heal cracks, rashes, and even cold sores. CUTTING EDGE BANKCARD SERVICES & AFFINITY 24: Creative Solutions for Complicated Systems By Jody Robinson

There is a famous quote about work: “love what you do and you’ll never work a day in your life.” Misattributed to both Confucius and Marc Anthony, the saying actually holds water when you look at it from the perspective of a small business owner.

ltimately, we pride ourselves on partnership, respect, and integrity,” says Garrett Logan, owner of the Tustin-based Cutting Edge Bankcard Services and Affinity 24. Aspects of a successful business, sure, but also markers of a wellthought-out life: one where the most bumper-stickered of all business quotes rings true. Cutting Edge Bankcard Services has served over 35,000 merchants to date over its 27 years in the industry offering a customized credit card processing structure that is tailored toward your specific clientele and the type of cards you accept in your business. “We make sure businesses are taking payments and handling confidential data in the safest way possible,” says Logan. “With our multi-layered security programs, liability is no longer an issue.” Offering these state-of-theart payment security and technologies for business, Affinity24 naturally evolved out of a custom approach to each business with Logan’s tailor made apps. “After security and customization are in place, we consult and teach businesses how to grow by increasing revenue and decreasing expenses through an expansive application market. We help streamline and improve the bottom line by looking out for new ways to overcome fraud and therefore fuel growth.” By training new payment security specialists, the business essentially grows itself: and Logan is looking to expand on the natural expansion. “We are all tired

of working 70 hours a week for years on end, making money for someone else. I can solve unique challenges individuals and companies face each day, and give hardworking individuals like myself the tools to build a career through our company at the same time.” Becoming a true consulting service, instead of just another standard company hitting the marks of merchant service is no easy task, but Garrett and his team believe in more than the bottom line. Working with churches and nonprofit organizations is near to his heart, and helps to build partnerships in the field, rather than merely superficial, commonplace transactions.

Sure, there’s currency involved too, which doesn’t hurt. Referral partners can earn up to $500, and recruiting agents? Up to $1200 per sale. But each agent is trained to maximize the purchase experience for the client, as well as save money on both sides: from college debt to the retirement crisis. Data breaches, HIPAA, and PCI liabilities are all covered. Even point of sale solutions. Affinity24 has you covered from every angle. “We love what we do - but more importantly, we love what you do, and we’d like to help you protect it.”

How Can I Tell If I Have Skin Cancer? There are three main types of skin cancer: basal cell carcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma, and melanoma. Because each has many different appearances, it is important to know the early warning signs. 56

ook especially for change of any kind. Do not ignore a suspicious spot simply because it does not hurt. Skin cancers may be painless, but dangerous all the same. If you notice one or more of the warning signs, see a board-certified dermatologist right away, preferably one who specializes in diseases of the skin.

WHAT PATIENTS NEED TO KNOW 1. Everyone needs to perform a self-skin exam once a month.

An actinic keratosis (AK) is a crusty, scaly growth caused by damage from exposure to ultraviolet (UV) radiation. An AK is considered a precancer because if left alone, it could develop into a skin cancer. AKs are the product of a lifetime accumulation of UV damage and typically appear on areas most commonly exposed sun, such as the backs of the hands, forearms, face, neck, and scalp.

Basal cell carcinoma (BCC) is the most frequently occurring form of all cancers, with more than 4 million cases of diagnosed in the U.S. each year. BCCs may look like open sores, red patches, pink growths, shiny bumps, or scars. Any skin lesion that doesn’t heal, or bleeds with even gentle trauma, such as drying with a towel, is concerning for a BCC.

2. Melanoma can appear anywhere on the skin, including the palms/soles, under your nails, and places...for most, have never seen the light of day (genitalia). For this reason, it is important to look everywhere. Lock the bathroom door, get out a hand mirror, and check, it could save your life. 3. What to look for: ABCDEs, and an ugly duckling A - Asymmetry: If I draw a line down the middle, do the sides match? B - Border: Is there a nice crisp border, or does the mole melt into the surrounding skin? C - Color: Moles should be one color, one shade of brown. Is there a variety of shades or additional colors, such as black, red, white, or blue? D - Diameter: Any mole larger than 6mm, ie the head of a pencil eraser, has a higher risk of becoming melanoma.

Squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) is an uncontrolled growth of abnormal cells arising in the epidermis, the skin’s outermost layer. SCCs often look like scaly red patches, crusty bumps, warts, or elevated growths with a central depression. SCCs may appear suddenly and some forms are tender to touch. They can become disfiguring and sometimes deadly if allowed to grow. More than 1 million cases of SCC are diagnosed each year in the U.S., which translates to about 115 cases diagnosed every hour. Incidence has increased by 200 percent in the past three decades in the U.S., and more than 15,000 Americans die each year from this type of skin cancer.

Melanoma is a very dangerous form of skin cancer. Melanoma is caused mainly by intense, occasional UV exposure (frequently leading to sunburn), especially in those who are genetically predisposed to the disease. An estimated 178,560 cases of melanoma are diagnosed in the U.S. each year and is fatal for an estimated 9,320 of these patients. Fortunately, if melanoma is recognized and treated early, it is almost always curable.

E - Evolution: Has it changed? F - The Ugly Duckling Sign: Most people have a “signature mole,” their own personal mole appearance and architecture. Is there a mole that seems different from all the others? 4. Everyone needs a full body skin exam by a board-certified dermatologist once a year, more frequently if you have a family history of skin cancer, a personal history of skin cancer, or live in an area with substantial sunshine. 57

Accent Portraits by Diana + San Juan Photo & Digital Professional Portraiture & Exceptionally Unique Wall Art By Jody Robinson I was at a retail store the other day, when a group of tourists asked me to take a photo of them in front of the window display - an incredible arch made solely out of the pages of reclaimed books from a library that had mostly burned down. An ode to what had been once. The photo? An ode to an ode. We’ve all heard the saying, “a picture is worth 1,000 words.” How many words are your memories worth? Diana and Scott Schmitt believe that those photos, those odes, are priceless. At the San Juan Capistrano-based Accent Portraits by Diana and San Juan Photo & Digital, the couple have devoted the last three decades to taking and developing memories for their customers. 60

“People ask us all the time what we specialize in,” says Diana. “‘Life’ is what we respond with. We want to be there for you and your family every step of the way, from preschool portraits, to beach days, to weddings and pets. Private homes, debutante balls and birthdays for ages 1-101!” Giving clients the best quality covers much more than a simple photo. Using a lifetime of skills, Diana and Scott set out in 1989 to get each client the product they wanted. With each person’s shifting needs come the full range of services that Accent Portraits and San Juan Photo & Digital can provide: $30 specials, a birthday club, portrait memo-

ries in a fun, easy fashion. “We’re like a family here. We are taking photos now of kids whose parents came in to see me almost thirty years ago!” Thirty years ago, not many could predict that film photography would almost go extinct. The rise of the digital age overwhelmed analogue, nearly to the point of no return. Yet, many amateur and professional photographers still swear by old-fashioned chemistry. The new problem? Almost nobody develops photos anymore. Short on your own dark room like the rest of us? Luckily, the wide range of services Diana and Scott offer covers everything from film to phones - and has been busy uniting the digital and analogue worlds for its customers in a fun, easy fashion. “We’re still the only lab that processes film,” says Scott, “and it’s making a huge comeback. Everyone has photos on their phones that would otherwise never be printed. San Juan Photo to the rescue!” The last man standing, as it were, Accent Portraits and San Juan Photo & Digital are out to change the photography game entirely. Not just film, or portraits, or product development. “It isn’t just better services: it’s better service.” Cheryl Wayland, long-time employee and staple of the South County shop, knows the name and story behind almost every client Scott and Diana have. In addition to exceptional portraiture for all occasions, Scott is also a su-

premely talented landscape photographer. If you are looking for unique wall art, he offers an array of stunning imagery - either as metals or regular prints. But being award-winning photographers and the developers of quality photos at an award winning custom lab isn’t where the fun stops with Diana and Scott. That joy you felt when you developed a roll of film after a family vacation? Could you describe that feeling, those memories with 1,000 words? You could certainly try. Or, you could make some new memories, and experience that feeling again and again and again, simply by walking into Accent Portraits and San Juan Digital Photo & Digital. to increase blood flow and nutrient delivery to sites of pain. This helps give the nerve cells the nutrients they need to get you out of pain and remain healthy. Depending on your coverage, YOUR TREATMENT COULD BE LITTLE TO NO COST TO YOU. The amount of treatment needed to allow the nerves to recover suffi-

ciently varies from person to person and can only be determined after a detailed physical exam. Call to make an appointment to determine if your chronic pain and peripheral neuropathy can be successfully treated. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO SUFFER ANOTHER MINUTE. CALL NOW! We are extremely busy. If your call goes into voicemail, please leave a message. We will call you back ASAP.
