‘Care’ is a funny word. It means protection, maintenance, welfare, concern, interest. Edinger Medical Group sees it as serious attention: deliberate consideration for their patients.

Caring for the community since 1961, Edinger Medical Group has surely delivered on its promise to provide quality care and improve health outcomes for patients of all ages. The primary care group encompasses 11 physicians, 4 board-certified nurse practitioners and over 70 clinical and non-clinical support staff in 2 locations – Huntington Beach and Fountain Valley. What sets this group apart from others is that the providers believe in being part of your entire healthcare journey, and they do so by providing tailored care experiences unlike any other.

The group noticed its 65+ patients would benefit from a personalized care team whose primary function was to ensure seniors are staying on track with their health; and in 2020, the Senior Care team was born. With the help of a direct phone line, the Senior Care Coordinators assist roughly 3,000 patients with scheduling appointments, setting up lab work, refilling medication requests, answering referral questions, sending detailed messages to their doctor, navigating the patient portal and answering general health-related questions.

“It’s definitely rewarding” says Jessica Salvador, M.A., previously a Diabetic Care Coordinator who is now a full-time Senior Care Coordinator.

“It’s busy because there are so many senior patients who need our help but I’m happy to be a part of this positive change.”

In recent years, Edinger has been consistently awarded 4.5 out of 5 stars by the Integrated Healthcare Association (IHA) for the quality of care being provided to its senior Medicare Advantage patients – proving the resources and efforts made to enhance the health of its senior population were a success.
