The First Annual Dodo Classic: To Benefit Joseph “Dodo” Nee Foundation
by Rick Winterson Yes, it’s a “first”, or an “inaugural event” if you choose to call it that, instead of using the word “annual”. Whatever you call it, just don’t miss it – a Golf Tournament a week from tomorrow, on Friday, October 13th, followed by a benefit at Florian Hall that evening
– music, prizes, and mystery guests. A real “Southie Time”! About two years ago, Joseph “Dodo” Nee was diagnosed with cancer. In September of last year, despite a bravely fought battle, he died. To him, everyone he met was special. He was deeply involved in the South Boston community, especially by helping individuals and agencies. South Boston born-and-brought-up, Dodo was a Marine, a Boston Firefighter for 28 years, and served on five non-profit Boards up to the time of his death. We are pleased and privileged to announce a new event in Dodo’s memory. Yes, the First Annual Dodo Classic Golf Tournament, followed by a benefit at Florian Hall that evening, takes place next week on Friday the 13th.
