BPH Board Meeting: A Briefing on Opioids This is #19 in the series of articles that South Boston Online has written in the last year on drug and alcohol abuse. The previous article (#18) dealt with a new mission the 3-1-1 Hotline has assumed – helping callers with drug issues. CASH POOR NO MORE!
On Saturday morning, September 17, South Boston’s FAN/CAN Advisory Collaborative with the South Boston Youth Council, hosted a take-back of anyone’s leftover medicines. This is done annually during Recovery Month (September) in front of BPD Station C-6. Capt. Boyle and his staff then made sure that all turned-in medicines were disposed of legally and safely. Kay Walsh, who organized the prescription take-back, is shown with her young helpers – Tracey, Judy, and Rodolfo – as they got ready to set up their turn-in point in front of South Boston’s Boston Police Station C-6. Good going, people!
