VOTE on Tuesday, May 1

A Special General Election is scheduled for this coming Tuesday, May 1. South Boston Online asks you to vote. Nick Collins (pictured) currently South Boston’s state Representative - is running in this election, which will fill the Suffolk District One State Senate seat vacated by Linda Dorcena Forry earlier this year. Nick is favored to win. He has been an honest, hard-working state Representative, who really cares about South Boston’s legitimate interests. So you might ask yourself, “Why should I bother to vote? The leading candidate for this

Senate seat, Nick Collins, is also an excellent candidate”. Even though it is your patriotic duty to vote in every election, that is actually a fair question. So, please consider the impact of the number of votes cast in the Special Election on May 1. If many voters turn out and Nick is elected by a big margin, he will carry a great deal of political energy with him when he assumes his Senate seat. In other words, a good turnout will help him get off to a good start. And there is another reason to vote on May 1. As you may know, there will be a Regular Election this November, so there will be soon another campaign for the First Suffolk Senate seat. Doing well in this Special Election will give the winning candidate a lot of momentum when the election comes in the fall. Yes, numbers count, even in a Special Election. You have every right to vote for the candidate of your choice, but above all, please VOTE on May 1!
