n Thursday and Friday, November 14 – 15, the 2019 “Golden Bridges” Conference and Awards took place at the World Trade Center. This was the 11th annual Golden Bridges event here in South Boston’s Waterfront District. Over the years, Golden Bridges has built its reputation as the most important conference promoting
partnerships between “Ireland Northwest” (Donegal and Derry) and its many business partners in Boston and Massachusetts. The climax of the 2019 Golden Bridges Conference and Awards event was last Friday’s Awards Luncheon in the WTC’s Harborview Room. Ten Awards were presented to a varied field of Honorees. Among them was John Beatty from South Boston, who you might recall was the Parade Chief Marshal of last year’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade. Many of his local friends and his family members were on hand to see him accept his Award. The Awards Luncheon in the Harborview Room was a gala affair. It began with an elegant wine reception at 12:30 on Friday, the 15th. Nearly 200 conferees and guests took part in the luncheon. Its Keynote Speaker was the Hon. Martin J. Walsh, Mayor of the City of
