T
he vote to bring recreational marijuana into Massachusetts not only passed, but by now, it’s history. Public meetings have begun on the issue of potential locations for dispensaries that sell recreational marijuana, after a
(very) lengthy legislative process in the Commonwealth that set the legal framework for proceeding with these dispensaries. But make no mistake: Even though it isn’t being enforced, there is still a Federal law that makes it a felony to possess marijuana (a Class I substance) for any purposes. On Wednesday evening, January 29, hosted by the City of Boston’s Neighborhood Services at the Tyna n Communit y Center, Holland Brands made a pre sent at ion conc erning their plan to place a marijuana dispensary at 550 East First Street. This address is on the corner of K Street, across from the warehouse building at 110 K Street. More specifically, Holland wants to renovate and convert the existing red brick building at that address into a marijuana dispensary, while Continued on Page 2
