First things first: South Boston’s Allied War Veterans Council has scheduled this year’s St. Patrick’s/ Evacuation Day Parade for Sunday afternoon, March 20. It will step off from the intersection of Dorchester Avenue and West Broadway promptly

Shades of a springtime sunset
Spring seemed to be spreading its rays along East Broadway during last Saturday’s sunset. The sun dipped below a layer of gray clouds coming in from the west. The effect was like shining an intense light on the ceiling of a cave. And sure enough, it turned out to be a mild weekend – not quite spring, but definitely milder than most Februarys.
