History Comes Alive at the Boston Bailey

NDEC Resumes Classes in Renovated Facility by Rick Winterson

T

he Notre Dame Education Center (the NDEC) has now moved back into the building it once occupied on Old Colony Avenue. This is after almost two years of remote, virtual teaching and learning, which started when the building’s complete renovation began, and was (of course) extended by the COVID19 pandemic. But first, a brief clarification: The building housing the Notre Dame Education Center still has its original mailing address of 200 Old Colony Avenue. However, the Center’s new separate front door, leading to their second floor classrooms, now has 202 Old Colony Avenue as its own street address. The mission at the NDEC

originates with a question: “What can we do to help you?” And the answer that describes NDEC’s mission is contained in a quote we received from Executive Director Christine Durante: “As a Center of Educational Programs in a new space, we want to anticipate and support the future workforce. Our goal is to offer Educational Programs, both about the present and for the future.” Certainly, a long-term mission like that requires talented teaching, along with maximum f lexibility to meet the learning requirements in our fast-moving societ y.
