The BIG Southam Sleepover

THE BIG SOUTHAM SLEEPOVER

The first big event of the season took place at the end of July, and the sleepover was certainly one not to miss!

The BIG Southam Sleepover advertised great food, enjoyable entertainment, fun games for all and sleeping under the stars on the Bobby Hancocks pitch - and the evening definitely delivered!

The festivities began early in the afternoon as the Men’s First Team welcomed Lichfield City FC for a preseason friendly. After 90 minutes of end-to-end action, and seven goals, the visitors emerged with the win. However, an SUFC loss was not enough to dampen the spirits and after the final whistle blew the party started.

The bar was a hot-spot all night but those who attended also enjoyed pulling up a camp chair or picnic blanket for musical

entertainment from James Acoustic with his powerful voice and impressive guitar skills, and ITV star Jordan Williams who settled all the guests into the evening.

Tasty food was also on the menu with a barbeque running all evening with hot dogs and hamburgers and a fish and chip van for those who fancied something different. Those young guests in

attendance could be found playing football for hours or enjoying other field games long after the sun had gone for the day. It didn’t take long for all of the 100+ guests to be heard snoring under the stars after a fun and enjoyable event.

The Big Southam Sleepover is just the beginning of a host of events being planned for the rest of the season and beyond •
