Southam United suffered their second defeat of the week when going down 3-1 at Gloucester-based Hartpury University.

The two teams had met just once before, with Hartpury winning 2-1 at Bobby Hancocks Park in May 2021, and this win consolidated their position in the top half of the Uhlsport Hellenic League division one table, whilst Southam slipped to 13th. Luca Robinson opened the scoring for the home side on 24 minutes and got his second three minutes before the break. A third from Ben Baxter in the 75th saw Hartpury on their way to a comfortable win, with substitute Jay Lawes getting an 85th minute consolation for Southam. In midweek, Southam had gone down 3-2 at home to Kidlington Reserves in the Hellenic Floodlight League Cup. A goal in each half from Ethan Champkins and Melvin Mauritson, captaining the team on his last start for the club before returning to his native Denmark, were not enough to secure victory. Next Saturday, Southam are at home to Malmesbury
