Welcome to the sixth annual Sourcing Journal Summit. This year, as we welcome you to a new venue, as a brand that’s part of a new media company, there’s lots of new things to talk about in apparel sourcing. That’s why the theme of this year’s Summit is Sourcing 5.0: New Concepts, New Sourcing. What Sourcing 5.0 represents, and what today’s sourcing executives and companies are realizing, is that we need to utilize technology, data and AI to help us become better manufacturers. We can identify how to be faster and which countries to manufacture in. We can change our culture and we can empower our merchants to be more entrepreneurial. But there’s technology out there that can take even more risk out of the decision-making process. To really be able to tap into it, though, we need to have the systems in place, the talent in place and we have to be able to dissect all of this information. A big part of this year’s conference is about understanding not only the power of this data, but how companies are using it to become smarter supply chain executives. During today’s Summit, you’ll hear from the industry’s leading executives on how they’re using data to decode customer lifetime value and deliver on new demands, how they’ve moved sustainability from an ideal to a bottom line benefit, and what sourcing will really look like by 2025. There are three Ds that have come for the supply chain: disruption, digitization and distress. While these words are clearly overworked, we are at a point now where they represent an evolution in the industry. Whether it’s through new technology or new brands stepping in and snagging market share, I’m starting to see a new guild taking over the industry. This is no longer an industry in distress. It’s an industry ripe with innovation. Edward Hertzman Founder & President Sourcing Journal

Take a closer look at the Seal of Cotton, and see what it means for your consumers.

The Seal of Cotton is a symbol that consumers trust. Including it in your promotions may even lead to double-digit increases in sales.1 Because when customers see the seal, they see quality, too. In fact, 82% of consumers believe that brands who use it care more about quality than those who don’t.2 Put the Seal of Cotton on your products and discover what cotton can do.
