Old Hidalgo Pumphouse - 902 S. 2nd, Hidalgo In the early 1900’s, irrigation began transforming the Valley from a brushland desert to lush farmland. This first class museum is the restoration of one of the old pumping plants, with its original steam engines and pumps now silent, but still in place. A protected walkway allows visitors to tour the old plant, and the Visitors Center contains more exhibits. Group tours are available with advance notice.
