Photographic presentation of the art installation "Sound Art in Public Spaces", curated by Raquel Castro and presented at the former Van Marcke industrial site in Kortrijk, Belgium.
The exhibition recreates a natural ecosystem inside the industrial venue, bringing together sounds from different natural elements: water (Liquid Aesthesia), air (The Monads), plants / fire (Burned Cork – Resilience), biodiversity (Swarm). At the same time, it aims to reflect on the climate crisis and the need of regeneration and preservation, by creating a public space where natural elements coexist, contaminate and transform each other.
Produced by Wilde Westen through the Sounds Now project, co-funded by the Creative Europe programme of the European Union.
