For 44 years, the School of Theatre at FSU has brought the thrill of live theatre to Tallahassee audiences. Before this evening is over, you will see why our program has become one of the most renowned in the nation. Alumni who have performed here have gone on to prestigious careers -- on Broadway and in a multitude of other professions in theatre and beyond. While talent is a big part of their success, the hard work of our faculty and staff drive our students to excel. And you play an important role as well. From the School of Theatre’s Executive Director Our 44th year of bringing you the very best of Musicals and Dramas and showcasing students’ work on stage and off, in the shops and in the classroom. Our alumni are taking the world by storm and Playbill has once again ranked us in the top five of public university programs most represented on Broadway. Our season will focus on how we each define family, luck, fate, mischief, normal, and loyalty. Together, we will have the opportunity to investigate the definitions that we assign to these words and how our individual experiences shape their meanings.

The School of Theatre at Florida State As one of the top-tier theatre training programs in the nation, the School of Theatre at Florida State provides its students with a wide variety of theatrical and educational opportunities. The primary mission of the School of Theatre is to offer students a comprehensive education in theatre and to prepare emerging artists to enter the professional theatre industry. As a result, the School of Theatre provides both student artists and community audience members a diverse array of productions that explore the spectrum of our shared humanity.

Founded in 1973 under the vision and leadership of then-Dean Richard G. Fallon, the School of Theatre enjoys a national reputation, in large part, because of the excellence of its undergraduate and graduate programs, as well as a gifted faculty of nationally recognized professional artists/ educators. The London Theatre Studies program, the chance to work side by side with guest artists and eminent scholars, as well as showcase opportunities in New York City and Los Angeles are just a few of the many reasons why students are attracted to our various professional and academic degrees from all over the United States, many foreign countries, and every county in FL. Alumni of the program include Broadway stars Montego Glover and Leslie Flesner, television producer Steven Sears, Emmy Award-winners John Papsidera and John Brace, Broadway producers Heather Provost and Darren Bagert, Playwright and Professor Suzan Zeder, and a host of talented entertainment industry professionals. Through their creative work, research, publication, and service, School of Theatre alumni contribute to the commercial, educational, and cultural life of the citizens of Florida and the nation.

Who’s Who Ariel Baron (Grandma Addams) is a junior BA Theatre major from Coral Springs, FL. Previous credits include A Day in the Death of Joe Egg (Grace), How I Became a Pirate (Maxine the Pirate), Glory in the Flower (Hannah), and The Wedding Singer (Rosie). She thanks her parents, her brother, Jessica, and her friends.

Michael Bradley (Mal Beineke) is a senior BFA Music Theatre major from Cromwell, CT. Previous credits include Guys and Dolls (Sky Masterson) at FSU and six shows this summer at Wagon Wheel Theatre in Warsaw, IN, including Into the Woods (Rapunzel’s Prince). Valeria Ceballos (Wednesday Addams) is a junior BA Theatre major from Ft. Lauderdale, FL. Previous credits include Disney’s Beauty and the Beast (Female Ensemble Swing, u/s Silly Girl), This Act of Darkness (Ceres), and A Chorus Line (Vicki). She is grateful for this amazing opportunity and everyone’s endless support.

Daniel Deist (WWI Soldier) is a senior BFA Acting major from Roswell, GA. Previous credits include Guys and Dolls (The Greek, u/s Benny Southstreet), Seminar (Douglas), Twelfth Night (Antonio), and the New Horizons: Original Works Festival. Zach Duncan (Pugsley Addams) is a freshman Exploratory major from Newnan, GA. He was last seen in Guys and Dolls (Albert). He thanks his brother Alex, Mom and Dad, and his remaining family members for their support with his theatrical endeavors.

Ashley Lewis (Alice Beineke) is a Music Therapy graduate student from Miami, FL. Previous credits include RENT (Maureen), Little Shop of Horrors (Audrey), Ring of Fire (June Carter), Dogfight (Rose Fenny), The Great American Trailer Park Musical (Pippi), Ghost: The Musical (Molly), Young Frankenstein (Elizabeth Benning), Into the Woods (Rapunzel), Nine (Luisa), and Spring Awakening (Ilse). Katerina McCrimmon (Bride, u/s Wednesday Addams, u/s Alice Beineke) is a sophomore BM Music Theatre major from Miami, FL. Jenna Myers (Flapper) is a sophomore BFA Music Theatre major from Boca Raton, FL. Who’s Who Jeanne Schwenck (Swing, u/s Grandma Addams, Dance Captain) is a junior BFA Music Theatre major from Miami, FL. Previous credits include Guys and Dolls (Miss Adelaide), Disney’s Beauty and the Beast (Ensemble, u/s Mrs. Potts, Dance Captain), All Shook Up (Female Swing), and Legally Blonde (Ensemble). Lilianna Solum (Morticia Addams) is a sophomore BFA Music Theatre major from Sarasota, FL. Previous credits include Guys and Dolls (Ferguson, u/s Sarah Brown), Disney’s Beauty and the Beast (Swing), Shrek the Musical (Fiona), and Chicago (Hunyak). Kate Vander Leest (Courtesan, u/s Morticia Addams) is a freshman BFA Music Theatre major from Iowa City, IA. Previous credits include Guys and Dolls (Blanche), Les Misérables (Fantine), and The Wizard of Oz (Dorothy). She thanks her family for their continuous love and support.

Amy Avila (Costume Designer) is a third year MFA Costume Design candidate. Previous design credits include A Day in the Death of Joe Egg and How I Became a Pirate at FSU, The Taming of the Shrew at the University of Nebraska, and a handful of student film projects. She would like to thank her roommate Kat, her family, and her friends for all of their continued love and support.

Kassidy Coburn (Technical Director) is a second year MFA Technical Production candidate. She completed her undergraduate at University at Buffalo. Previous credits include Assistant Technical Director for Cloud 9 at FSU, Technical Director for Wild Horses and The Niceties, and two world premieres at The Contemporary American Theatre Festival.

Kassidy is also the Assistant Production Manager for Live Design International, a live event conference held each year in Las Vegas.

Zach Cramer (Sound Designer) is the staff sound designer for the FSU School of Theatre.

He has been involved with theatre for over nineteen years and has since designed over 80 productions. Selected design credits include The Who’s Tommy, Peter Pan, Ragtime, Seussical The Musical, Nine (winner 2008 FTC, 2009 SETC and advanced to national A ACT), Titanic, The Producers, Monty Python’s Spamalot, Hedda Gabler, Legally Blonde, Disney’s Beauty and the Beast, and A Day in the Death of Joe Egg. He is also the sound designer for Valdosta State University’s Peach State Summer Theatre.

Don Fox (Lighting Designer) is an Assistant Professor of Lighting and Sound at Indiana University of Pennsylvania in Indiana, PA. He holds his MFA in Lighting Design from the University of Arizona and a BA in Theatre Administration from St. Edward’s University in Austin, TX. His credits include Moscow Ballet’s Great Russian Nutcracker (Lighting Designer/ Production Manager), Circus Electronica (Lighting Designer/Production Manager), Tucson’s Artifact Dance Project (Resident Lighting Designer), Tucson’s Rogue Theatre (Resident Lighting Designer), Post Playhouse at Ft. Robinson State Park (Lighting and Scenic Designer), and Numerica Performing Arts Center of Wenatchee (Resident Producer, Lighting Designer, and Scenic Designer). He is the past lighting and sound consultant for Silversea Cruises.

Hunter Greer (Stage Manager) is a senior BA Theatre major from Orlando, FL. Selected credits include Disney’s Beauty and the Beast, Oklahoma!, and Hairspray at Shenandoah Summer Music Theatre, and All Shook Up and Legally Blonde at FSU. He thanks his family, friends, ASM’s, Mombra, and the SOT for this incredible opportunity.

Who’s Who Michelle Harvey (Scenic Designer) is the resident scenic design faculty member for The University of Texas at Arlington’s Department of Theatre Arts and Maverick Theatre Company for which she regularly designs. Other credits include designs for the Turtle Creek Chorale, Theatre Three (A Little Night Music, Memphis, Picnic), Dallas Children’s Theatre (Goosebumps, The BFG –national tour, Seussical ), Uptown Players (Titanic, Soho Cinders, Aida, Ragtime, Sweeney Todd ), and The Spectacular Senior Follies (since 2015), among others. Michelle is a member of USITT and the United Scenic Artists Local 829. (USA 829, MFA) Jeremie Michael (Music Director) holds a Master of Music in theory/composition from FSU where he recently conducted Disney’s Beauty and the Beast. Jeremie was musical director with the Off-Broadway production of The Fantasticks and while residing in New York, he was a pit musician with several Broadway musicals including Disney’s Beauty and the Beast and Chicago. Major ensembles, including the San Francisco Symphony and the Houston Symphony, have featured him as a piano soloist. He studied piano performance at the San Francisco Conservatory and The Juilliard School, and presently lives in Tallahassee with his wife Elizabeth and daughter Mackenzie.

Jessica Lea Patty (Director/Choreographer) is a seven time Broadway veteran, teaching artist and choreographer. She was last seen on Broadway in the Tony Award ® winning production Bandstand where she played Jo. She also understudied and performed the lead role of Julia Trojan. Jessica was in the Broadway revival of EVITA starring Ricky Martin where she understudied and performed the title role of Eva Peron, as well as starring as the Cassie alternate in the Broadway revival of A Chorus Line. Her other Broadway credits include The Boy From Oz starring Hugh Jackman and the original Broadway companies of The People In The Picture, 9 to 5: The Musical, and The Addams Family. As an original member of The Addams Family, Jessica was with the

show throughout its journey from a workshop table reading to the pre-Broadway tryout in Chicago and ultimately to its home on Broadway. She created the original Flapper Ancestor and understudied both Morticia and Wednesday Addams played by Bebe Neuwirth and Krysta Rodriguez respectively. Jessica has numerous regional and NYC stage credits including City Center Encores! and the NY Philharmonic as well as touring nationally with Cats and Fosse. Jessica has also made numerous television appearances including five Tony Award ® telecasts, Dancing with the Stars, The Kennedy Center Honors, The View and Good Morning America. In film, she will make her onscreen debut this fall in Backseat starring Christian Bale and Amy Adams. Jessica has had the privilege of working alongside Tony Award ® winning director/choreographer Andy Blankenbuehler (Hamilton, Bandstand ) for 12 years as both a performer and an associate choreographer. She also teaches musical theatre and mindfulness at the Orange County School of the Arts where she will be choreographing Jasper in Deadland by Ryan Scott Oliver and Hunter Foster this spring. Jessica has taught musical theatre workshops and masterclasses all over the country most notably for The Broadway Artists Alliance, Broadway Workshop, University of California Irvine, Florida State, and The Performing Arts Project among others. Jessica also choreographed the finale for the Brazilian reality TV show Broadway Dreams. Jessica is a proud alum of the Florida State University BFA Music Theatre Program! She is thrilled to return to Tallahassee to create a new FSU version of a show she holds very dear to her heart. Go Noles!! Who’s Who Dallas Pollei (Assistant Director) is a first year MFA Directing candidate from Roswell, NM. Last semester, he served as the Assistant Director for Guys and Dolls. For the past 11 years, Dallas has been a tenured professor of Theatre and Humanities at Eastern New Mexico University-Roswell Campus. There, he directed two shows a year for the past decade with an emphasis in musicals.

Sudarat Songsiridej (Assistant Music Director) is a Coach Accompanist for the FSU Music Theatre Program and a Dance Musician for FSU School of Dance. She has been the Assistant Music Director and Production Pianist for the School of Theatre musicals since 1997. She has played for a variety of guest artists including Ann Reinking, Richard Maltby and David Shire. She is also the Pianist/Arranger for the annual FSU Music Theatre New York Showcase. Off campus, she is the Music Director for The Laughing Stock, Florida’s Political Cabaret and is the Company Pianist for the Pas de Vie Ballet. Although consistently identified as the grandmother of Pugsley and Wednesday, Grandmama’s relationship to the other family members is inconsistent across the various adaptations of “The Addams Family”. In the original cartoons published in The New Yorker, the character was referred to as Granny Frump, making her Morticia’s mother. In both television series, Grandmama’s relationship to the family changed as she became Gomez’s mother. However, in the animated series and feature films, Grandmama was identified as the maternal grandmother of the children. This discrepancy prompts Gomez’s hilarious line, “I thought she was your mother!” in the Broadway musical.

About the Patrons Association The Patrons Association was established to support the students, faculty, and staff at the School of Theatre by promoting activities that enrich the School and the cultural life of our community.

Founded in 1970, the Patrons Association and its 300 members provide a valuable link between the School and the community, and help to ensure the best possible theatrical entertainment for Tallahassee.

The Patrons Association provides support for student scholarships as well as valuable assistance to support performances and programs that enrich the lives of all students and community members.

This year, the Patrons Association raised more than $38,000 towards student scholarships and recruitment. We believe that with your involvement, we can further enrich the lives of our students and community members by providing an outstanding theatre experience, community programming and outreach, student and faculty enhancement, increase national student recruitment efforts, and support visiting guest artists through Patron supported and sponsored annual fundraising efforts and events.

Patrons Scholar Spotlight: Gabrielle Lawlor Gabrielle is a junior BA Theatre major and Education minor.

After returning from studying abroad last fall, she is eager to jump back into her second year of work with the Fine Arts Ticket Office as a Ticket Agent, as well as diving into her first semester with the College of Education.

Gabrielle is excited to take the skills she has learned through Theatre Academy London and apply them to future artistic projects. Her past School of Theatre credits include Spent, City of Light, and Objectify. After graduation, she hopes to pursue graduate study in Theatre Education with the ambition of being a theatre teacher.

To the Patrons, Gabrielle would like to say, “Being a Patrons Scholar is a true honor and I am so thankful for it. Your support helped me to afford going to London for the semester.

Whether you are returning or visiting for the first time, we want you to feel comfortable and be familiar with our facilities and services.

As a courtesy to the actors on stage and other members of the audience, we ask you to silence cellular phones, pagers, and watch alarms during the show.

Recording or photographing any part of this performance is strictly prohibited.

Cameras and recording equipment must be checked with the House Manager.

For persons in need of hearing reinforcement, infrared headsets are offered free of charge in the Fallon Theatre. Headsets should be reserved through the Fine Arts Ticket Office.

There is no charge for this service; however, a driver’s license, major credit card, or $10 returnable deposit is required.

Smoking is not permitted in any Florida State University building.

Lost and Found articles should be turned in to the House Manager and may be claimed at the Fine Arts Ticket Office, located in the Fine Arts Building.

Gift Certificates may be purchased at the Fine Arts Ticket Office in any dollar amount. Gift certificates are great ideas for birthdays, anniversaries, and other special occasions.

There are a variety of ticket packages and discounts available. Theatre parties with friends and business associates may be organized at substantial discounts for groups of ten or more.

Patrons in wheelchairs will find handicapped parking available in the parking garages adjacent to the Fallon, Lab, and Studio Theatres. Wheelchair seating is available at all of our theatres and should be requested when ordering tickets. Patrons should seek the House Manager for assistance upon arrival.

Everyone must have a ticket for the event including infants and children in laps.

If your child is causing a disturbance, please exit to the lobby. It is not advised that children under our recommended ages listed per show attend School of Theatre productions.

Late arrivals will be seated at the discretion of the House Manager.

Restrooms are conveniently located in the lobby area.

Hours of operation for the Fine Arts Ticket Office are Tuesday through Saturday, 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM. The Ticket Office will open 60 minutes prior to each performance.

Please arrive 15 minutes prior to performance time to guarantee seating.

Patrons arriving 15-20 minutes after the start of the performance will not be seated until intermission.
