Optimized Dismantlable Modern Art Gallery – Academic/Proposal of Modern Art Galleries in Japan, DRC, and Italy –
This project focuses on a new value and a form of an art museum. The proposal is a movable museum where the artwork can be transferred along with its surrounding building space. My idea was to use the walls, floor, and roof normally used to construct a building, but use these materials converted into containers to encase the art pieces while carrying them, and making the entire museum movable.

in recent years, and artists are constantly traveling and creating artwork at the same time. Being influenced by that trend, the movable museum which I proposed would travel with touring artwork, and based on the location, it is designed to be able to change its form and shape.

Execution of ODMAG – Diploma/Proposal of a Modern art gallery in Amandola & Accumoli , Italy –
This project executes ODMAG's concept. The structure is built with plywood, timber, and membrane. By using a wooden structure technique, it grants the pavilion to easily dismantle and rebuild without any use of metal parts or professional skills.
- 2019 -
The wooden components which makes up the exhibition space can also be taken to pieces and can be converted to containers, which enables to carry arts. Two containers can be made up from one building, and other unused components can be stored inside the containers. By using origami methods, the layout of the fabric facade can transform, adjusting to the conditions of each site. In this project, I was in charge of the pavilion’ s design independently and Construction management at each site.

AFFLUENCE IN GRID – Academic/Proposal of a Museum of Contemporary Art in Kanagawa, Japan –
This project centers on how to create prosperous spaces, within each authentic grid. The contemporary art museum locates in Kanagawa, Japan. On the south of the site is a hill, residential area on the north. In order to accept a wide range of contemporary art, which varies in forms and sizes, the project requires a flexible space. As like Louis Kahn designed Kimbell Museum under the concept of “served and servant” , this museum’ s exhibition spaces and circulations are well

visitors and a space for employees. In this museum, wiring, piping, and lighting are all arranged in pillars and beams of H-shaped steel and C-shaped steel. The shape of the steels is used to refine the space further.

The space with the served and servant grids will be further divided into an exhibition space and an office space. Besides, the three flow lines to the mountain are extended from different parts of the building.
Two atriums are provided to create a bright space, and the necessary vertical flow lines, such as stairs and elevators, are also added into the servant grid. Also, a picture window is provided in a part of the exhibition space for the beautiful view of Mt. Fuji, which is one of the characteristics of the site.
Finally, a concrete exhibition plan is created, and a bathroom for the employee is added into the servant grid.

CROSSING SHOPPING ARCADE – Academic/Proposal of a Commercial Residential Complex in Tokyo, Japan –
This project focuses on how to bring the liveliness in multi-story commercial facilities, as seen in shopping streets from good old Japan, in downtown Tokyo. While analyzing the site, I found that the spaces in the shopping street could be used as a hint when designing multi-story commercial facilities. Many of the building existing in the shopping street consists of 4 layers; spaces for “communication” , “sales” , “workspace” , and “living” . In each store, various sign boards, products, furniture are placed outside of the store, sticking out to the street. Regardless of this phenomenon becoming an obstruction in terms of traffic, this creates a new place for interaction by making people stop and look in through the stores.

Since, long time ago, Japan has always lacked wide open spaces for gathering. Despite the fact, Japan has such urban spaces so called as “tsuji” like crossroads centered in city. At such places would traders place their goods for sale and street stall vendors ply their trade, even people get together just for fun. As the years passed, roads have gradually lost those enjoyable things. Our roads now become means of transport only. It has been said that as roads have faded into obscurity and lost it’ s characters, the shops along the roads have become main components in cities. It is as if the roads of long ago, full of such variety and life, have been squeezed to extract only their essences. The roads are left as dried out carcasses, while the extracted essences are too pure in value to be enjoyed as they are in any way.

DUAL / DUEL – Academic/Image and Identity Construction in Yanesen, Japan –
This project starts with the discovery of a case, which ancient icons have been converted into modern contexts of Yanesen’ s cityscape. For example, public restroom located in Yanesen area was designed with the similar shape of a Temple, located near the restroom.
- 2018 -
Throughout the project, we picked up several historical icons which symbolizes the city. Afterwards, we pondered on how and in which perspectives the historical icons can be applied in the modern architecture and cityscape. This is a project of Japan GSD Workshop 2018. In this project, I was in charge of finding several examples of Dual/Duel, and made a proposal of two types of cafe. For the final presentation, I made the map diagram, and some of the pictures showing detail of its Dual/ Duel.

Exhibition Space Rendering Marunouchi Museum
This project proposes a future image of museums in Marunouchi, Tokyo. Recently, enormous amounts of works are created and information are shared all over the world. However, due to the speed and amount of resources introduced, current museums are no longer able to keep up in terms of space and its capability. At the same time, Marunouchi, Tokyo is struggling with city planning. This is, until 1966, the height of the buildings in Marunouchi were restricted to 31 meters. However, after since the restriction dissolved, new high-rise buildings were additionally built upon old buildings. Boundaries between the old and new buildings became obviously apparent, and more, dead space arose, making the city looking physically chaotic. Setting Marunouchi as a site, this project considers how to break the conventional style of museum into small pieces within the city to resolve the lack of space, by using the dead spaces created between the old and new buildings. By doing so, we can also connect the boundaries between the “old” and the “new” buildings in Marunouchi. In this project, firstly , I made the proposal relates to the height restriction. In addtion, I made most of the drawings. 117200 92800

SHELTER FOR REFUGEE in SLOVENIA
- 2017 -
– Design and Construction of Temporary Housings in Gradec, Slovenia –
This project aims to design temporary housing prototypes for refugees. Year by year, number of refugees are increasing mainly in European countries. One unit of a house is a simple building, made up of 17 pieces of plywood boards, 1 board size 1220×2440mm. After being processed by a CNC router, the residents uses hand saws to cut out the remaining parts and assembles by themselves, using hammers. ( Using The Veneer House System / Keio University SFC Hiroto Kobayashi Laboratory) Larger space can be created by connecting these house units. By cutting the joists and beam parts of one unit, it can be connected to another unit. The surface of the plywood and the joints are coated with distinctive white paint, which forms a film after it is dried. This prevents the intrusion of rainwater and deterioration of the wood. In each units, has a different types and shapes of windows, which every one of them has specific functions. For instance, window created for ventilation, as an entrance for kids, and as for tables. In this project, I was in charge of the shelter’ s design independently and its construction management at the site.

SECTION A-A’
The Congo Acadex Elementary School Project began in 2009. It aims to build a model primary school for local society in the district of Kimbondo, in Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC). In DRC, it is not common to have a nurses ‘ office within their schools. In many cases, when a child becomes sick, they are sent back home or to sleep on the floor behind their classrooms. Therefore, the project aims to create a nurse’ s office, opened not just for the children but also for the local people to become aware of health. The building and the furniture were built and assembled without any use of machines. In order for the people to Congolese methods. For example, we implemented local masonry structure walls. For the roofs, the Japanese wooden roof

maintain the nurse’ s office by themselves, the project collaborated with the local professionals, combining Japanese and method is used for the roof frame. Each piece of furniture gently segments the interior space. For example, at the back of the office is a small rise where sick people can sleep. On the front side of the room, is a box-type furniture that can be used as chairs and shelves. In between are a large curved shelf, which gently connects these spaces. The furniture allows the children to rest peacefully, yet safely, in the nurse’ s office. At the same time, creates an open space where local people can gather. In this project, I made a proposal of interior design, such as finishing materials. I was also in charge of furniture design: Koagari & Boxes and the construction management at the site.

BAMBOO PAVILION in SHANGHAI
Guide - Bamboo flooring with holes(2mm)
– Design and Construction of a Dome Structure in Shanghai, China –
Hole(8mm)
- 2018 -
Bamboo flooring
Commonly used as flooring materials in China, bamboo flooring (thickness: 17mm, width: 130mm, length: 1,100mm ) with bolt fasteners form a reciprocal frame structure. This dome was constructed under a collaboration between Shigeru Ban Laboratory in Keio University and Tongji University. In this project, I was in charge of the study of how to make a beautiful circle by connecting bamboo pieces based on a model of the bamboo pavilion. In addition, I considered the idea of the construction procedure and did the supervision of on-site construction. In order to make a beautiful circular dome, a part of the pieces that touches the ground of the pavilion was cut with a specific curvature. The biggest problem in construction was how to extract the scaffold from the inside after all the parts were assembled. Eventually, the cargo elevator was used to float the entire pavilion for a while, and the scaffold was dismantled during that time.

FULL HOUSE – Design and Construction of a Small Book Store in Fukushima, Japan –
- 2018 -
Since Great East Japan Earthquake occurred on March 11, 2011, many architects have started many projects for regional reconstruction in the affected areas such as Fukushima and Miyagi. This FULL HOUSE is one of them. A novelist moved to Fukushima after the earthquake and felt a sense of crisis that there was no place for people to gather in that area, and asked Shigeru Ban to design a small bookstore. I was involved in the design as an intern. As an architectural form, I tried to design an extending building in front of the novelist’ s house, depending on the structure of the existing building. The main structure is a paper tube pillar and a bookshelf itself for arranging books for sale. On top of that, a roof made of timbers and galvalume steel plate are placed. In this project, under Shigeru Ban’ s supervision, I was in charge of most of the drawings and a model independently.
