lives and enhance the projects of young people, creating experiences and opportunities, promoting mobility, driving the results of learning, connecting people through cultural ties supported by a common set of values, based on a union of policies in order to promote social

development and economic growth in Europe.

About Project

Make the Change Happen is an EVS project that aims to give young volunteers the "power" of change. This EVS is promoted at SOPRO a NGO located in Barcelos.

The aim of this EVS is to work with volunteers to develop their personal skills, professional skills and qualifications, making them more confident, active and optimistic, in order to promote the common values of freedom, tolerance and respect for Human Rights, preventing radicalization and violence, helping to develop a European unity and being proactive in the planning and action of its future.

The MCH is a commitment to multilingualism, interculturality and inclusion, integration and equality, both of volunteers and those with their work, will help the local community, SOPRO and its beneficiaries.

The MCH will be a project to change the lives of the volunteers, SOPRO, the community, the partners and the beneficiaries who will work with the volunteers.

We expect this project to have an impact on skills development, adaptability, proactivity and team spirit. Benefits and impacts will arise during the MCH, with the discoveries and personal oversight of each volunteer and then on their return home and in their life.

For the local community, SOPRO and beneficiaries will also be a great opportunity to make change happen, the volunteer's background and knowledge, their training, competence and creation of an intercultural, multi-linguistic environment, where all are integrated, likewise, in a society without borders.

Tasks: Working at Loja Social(Esposende) and Associação Humanitária de Rio Covo Santa Eugénia.

Organization of intercultural activities, workshops (Italian and Turkish), exhibitions, lectures, creative spaces, painting, cultural, environmental and sports activities.

Reflection activities on the themes of the European Union, work on the importance of interacting on an equal basis, on valuing differences and stimulating intercultural dialogue; Collaboration in the organization of sports activities - Hiking-Bike-Trail Work with other volunteers of the association - Social makeover; Support the School Material Bank, support office tasks and daily tasks;

Participate in SOPRO’s campaigns: Collection of school material and food in the supermarkets Support fundraising initiatives (helping to seek and compete for international applications), and support for exchange activities, Support to projects of Mozambique
