Blues brothers, sisters, cousins and friends have been spotted around town of late, tuning up for the actual “Blues Brothers” film that will show at the Crystal Theatre on Monday, Feb. 8. The screening is a fundraiser for The Sopris Sun and theatergoers are encouraged to come in costume for the event. The Blues Brothers, originally a singing duo on “Saturday Night Live” featuring John Belushi as Jake and Dan Aykroyd as Elwood, eventually became a feature-length film based on their SNL characters. Join us for some laughs as Jake and Elwood storm around the country in their Bluesmobile while “On a Mission from God” to raise $5,000 to save the orphanage in which they grew up. Who are the orphanage-loving, blues-blasting renegades from the law pictured here? Guess their identities and we’ll reveal them on Monday night. Doors open at 7 p.m. and the movie starts at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $10 at the door. Photo by Jane Bachrach
