“We were very impressed with Hilary’s performance. She helped us find and purchase two homes. She was extremely professional and always on time and quick to respond to any questions and needs that we had. I would highly recommend her to anyone in need of a real estate agent. She is the exception.” - Ashley & Dafna
Welcome to the 54th Carbondale Mountain Fair!
The 54th Carbondale Mountain Fair theme is LET’S
DANCE ¡BAILEMOS !
An unapologetic, inclusive invitation to celebrate our vibrant community’s creativity, connection, and expression. It’s cathartic, it’s unifying, and it invites us all to let our glorious freak flags fly. Most of all, it shouts “Hallelujah Anyway” in the face of whatever obstacles might loom before us.
There is a lot of change in the world, much of it stress ful and difficult, and for the next three days, let’s take a break. After all, if we can’t get together and dance, what’s the point of anything anyway?!
For 54 years now, we have come together on this weekend and prioritized joy and community. It is absolutely radical that we continue to put on this fair together as volunteers when our schedules are busy and there are endless competing interests for our time and money.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for coming out. Thank you for sharing your time. And thank you for sharing your joy.
With deep gratitude for everything each individual brings to Mountain Fair.

Important Information
Mountain Fair Sustainability
Locally-owned EverGreen ZeroWaste and amazing Green Team volunteers support Mountain Fair in responsibly diverting waste from local landfills. Reuse is key to reducing our waste and lowering our environmental fair-print! Let us all take personal responsibility in keeping Mother Earth healthy. You can help Mountain Fair accomplish our waste diversion goals by supporting these Green Team efforts:
BYO water bottles, plates, and utensils to the fair; take them home and wash them. It’s like camping! Reusable cups may be used for cocktails and wine (not beer, sorry) at the Cantina.
We do not sell bottled water at the fair and we have several WATER STATIONS full of clean, mountain water marked with red and white water signs. Please bring your own reusable container and keep it with you.
If you are finished with your program, please promote REUSE by leaving it at the Entrance/Exits for others to use.
COMPOSTING & RECYCLING
You can be part of the solution by assisting the volunteer-powered Green Team with proper sorting at the waste stations.
Sort your waste in the well-marked containers at our waste stations where you will find friendly volunteers. Just about anything you purchase from a food vendor goes in the green compost bins. All food scraps, utensils, plates, bowls, cups, and paper products are compostable.
ALL cups in The Cantina are COMPOSTABLE!

Meet the Artist: Jen Grant
Jen is a self-taught printmaker living and creating in Lafayette, Colorado. For the past 11 years, she’s been making handprinted gratitude and grief flags, greeting cards, and mixed media prints using relief and screen-printing techniques. Inspired by Tibetan Prayer Flags, her flags are created to honor life’s moments, milestones, and passions.
Much of her inspiration comes from the beauty of the Colorado outdoors, family, and the joys and struggles of being human. She says “I create art to connect — with myself, with others, and with the world—and I’m deeply grateful whenever one of my pieces finds its way into someone’s life to help celebrate, remember, or simply show up for one another.”
Jen fell in love with Mountain Fair after first attending 10 years ago, and has been an art vendor for the past several years. “I’m so honored and humbled to be part of this vibrant, creative community in Carbondale for a few days each summer — and I can’t wait for the joy, connection, and dancing this year!”
Mountain Fair Magic Maker: Laura Stover
There are some people who leave an indelible mark wherever they go --- of great ideas, incredible talent, and maybe a little bit of magic. Throw in a great smile, hilarious laugh, and an infectious playful spirit and you’ve got Laura Stover.
Laura has been sharing her genius with Carbondale Arts since 2013, back when the organization was still named Carbondale Council on Arts & Humanities. Whether it’s the Fashion Show -- where she’s designing lines, creating the jaw-dropping projections, and sharing in the creative direction with the team -- or at Mountain Fair -- where she’s bringing poster ideas into well-crafted merchandise, like tshirts, sweatshirts, hats, and more -- Laura’s mark on Carbondale Arts and Carbondale is massive.
We wanted to take this moment to thank you, Laura Stover. Mountain Fair wouldn’t be the same without you. Carbondale wouldn’t be the same. We’re inspired by you, grateful for you, and very, very, very lucky to work with you and call you a friend.
