Communities throughout the area celebrated the Fourth of July in their own ways, including, as seen here, the traditional parade and festivities in Redstone — one of the most happening
places to be every Independence Day — and in Carbondale, where young and old(er) took part in the annual kids parade on Main Street. Down the Roaring Fork River to Sayre Park in Glenwood Springs, about 200 people gathered for a reading of the Declaration of Independence — a nonpartisan event organized by resident Angie Parkison — led by Mayor Pro Tem Erin Zalinski and City Councilman Sumner Schachter.
