Stop and smell the roses
… particularly if they're of the Harison's yellow variety, which manages to be both better smelling and tougher than its relatives. Perhaps that's why many pioneers chose it for the journey west, where it's a common sight near old logging camps and homesteads. This particular specimen may have been rambling along the fence at the old Ferguson place on Seventh and Euclid since they shut down the mines at Spring Gulch in the '40s.
