Every issue of Sophisticated Living Magazine we try to highlight the tri-state community in various ways. Whether through dining and home features, to arts and business leaders, to the ever-important philanthropic and society features, passion abounds in this community. None are quite as fun to work on, as much as those on the philanthropies and people who run them.

Since I started publishing Sophisticated Living over 2 and a half years ago, I made supporting charitable groups a priority in our editorial content. We continually support organizations and their major events, and attempt to bring their story to life each issue. As I have gotten to learn more and more about these organizations and the local community that supports them, I felt it a necessity to continue to educate our readers about these great organizations.

One obstacle I've noticed time and again is that it can be difficult for a cause to stand out. So we present to you, Sophisticated Giving Charity Register. A reference guide for non-profits, you will be provided a core overview of the ‘who, what, why’ for each organization, and of course the ever important ‘how’ we as a community can help support these meaningful groups. I also hope the comprehensive annual event calendar will be utilized throughout the year.

How We Ser ve the Community: Since 1983, the Alzheimer’s Association of Greater Cincinnati has served 27 counties in Southern Ohio, Northern Kentucky and Southeastern Indiana through a variety of programs and services designed for individuals with Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias as well as their families and caregivers.

Who We Are: The American Heart Association is the nation’s oldest and largest voluntary organization dedicated to fighting heart disease and stroke. THE APARTMENT ASSOCIATION OUTREACH, INC. Who We Are: The Apartment Association Outreach is a 501(c) 3, non-profit charitable organization. OUTREACH was originally founded in 1991 to provide clothing and household items to families in need. Since 2000, we focus on 5 major programs to provide basic needs and emergency assistance to families and individuals in crisis. With the help of our social service partners they identify the need in our community. Our partners include Freestore Foodbank, Welcome House of Northern Kentucky, CAIN (Churches Active in Northside), Jewish Family Services and Santa Maria Community Services.

• Food Distribution to 20 food pantries, twice a year.

• Backpack supplies and distribution in conjunction with Santa Maria Community Services and the Price Hill Back to School Fair.

• Senior events held at affordable living facilities providing a hot meal and a fun game of Bingo.

• Scholarships recommended by our service partners for post-secondary education for at least 3 students.

Also, industry related Scholarships are provided for candidates currently employed in the apartment industry for the National Apartment Association Education Institute designation programs.

What We Do: With the help of many volunteers and sponsors, each year 3 fundraising events are held to support our 5 programs. In the Spring we host a 5k 4 Rent event with a timed run and walk through beautiful Friendship Park along the river, followed with brunch and Warm 98 as our host. In the Fall, we host a Night Out for Outreach with many industry leaders and the community in attendance. This night is full of fun with music, great food, fundraising and a short program of our good deed. In December, we enjoy the Holiday Cheers for Outreach benefit party. Many gift items available with the purchase of Raffle tickets, Silent and Live Auctions.

Why We’re Important: We believe in building stable families, which in turn builds stable communities.

Every day families and individuals are in need of housing, food, school supplies, continuing education and senior citizens who just need an inspiration of love. That’s where we step in so they don’t have to choose between paying their rent and buying food. We help fund our partners so they can identify those in need of rent assistance. The pantry shelves are usually empty when we arrive with food, providing food distribution twice a year. An education is important for learning life skills, a trade, a career or profession. We reach out to our partners for recommendations for scholarships.

BAYLEY Who We Are: A non-profit ministry of the Sisters of Charity, Bayley is a continuum of care Retirement Facility and Community Wellness Center on the west side of Cincinnati. Since 1990, dedicated staff and volunteers have provided compassion and quality of life to those we ser ve in a Catholic/Christian environment. We strive to help others live “Life In Every Moment” at any stage, regardless of their abilities. Our goal is to promote optimum health and well-being for seniors who live on our campus and in the greater community through the programs and services we offer.

How We Serve the Community: In 2017, over 2600 seniors utilized Bayley services or chose Bayley as their home. Of that number, 1800 were active Fitness Center members from the local community. The club has become the place where friends meet, socialize, work out and attend outreach programs that encourage safe and healthy lifestyles. Outpatient rehabilitative therapy helped 84 patients regain their strength and mobility while Bayley Home Services kept 111 seniors who live on campus or in the community, stay safe and independent - on their own, but not alone!™ Close to 150 members and their families were assisted by the Bayley Adult Day Program.

What We Do: Bayley offers 78 Independent Living cottages, a Fitness Center, an Adult Day Program, Outpatient and Inpatient Rehabilitative Therapy and Assisted Living, Memory Support and Skilled Nursing Care. Physical, social, spiritual and emotional needs are addressed by our professional, caregiving staff. Diverse activities and outings satisfy the varied interests of those in our care. Family members are encouraged to join in the daily activities, attend Mass or experience the beautiful gardens and accessible walking paths around campus with their loved one. Our residents' relatives quickly become an extension of our Bayley family, often renewing old friendships and creating new memories.

How You Can Help: Bayley’s vision is to continue providing exceptional, compassionate care to seniors for generations to come but we need additional support to make it happen. Charitable contributions are welcomed and we offer several giving options that include event sponsorships, memorial or tribute donations, society memberships and planned giving opportunities.

Volunteers, important members of our Bayley family, add to the circle of friends for our residents and members through their service to others. Expanded residential options and community services are available if care needs increase.

Responsive to family concerns as well, the Adult Day Program offers respite to caregivers and educational dementia trainings are scheduled to enhance communication and understanding of loved ones in need of memory support.

THE BEECHWOOD HOME Who We Are: The Beechwood Home is a not-for-profit; long-term care skilled-nursing facility. We offer the area’s most comprehensive services for a wide range of neurodegenerative, cerebral vascular, spinal cord, and other medical conditions.

We specialize in providing high quality, long-term care together with advanced rehabilitation and restorative services, as well as therapeutic and recreational activities that optimize function and quality of life for our residents. The Beechwood Home currently has 80 beds in long-term nursing care services.

• Coordinate resources to provide one information source as to what services and providers are available. Access to services in this field will be clear, transparent and available.

• Maintain our commitment to superior care and a family environment for our residents and leverage our strengths.

How We Serve the Community: Our customers / market niche consists of residents who have a debilitating neurological disease (i.e. 41%41% Multiple Sclerosis, 6% Cerebral Palsy, 6% CVA, 6% Huntington's, 17% ALS) mostly coming from our Tri-State area. There are additional diseases such as traumatic brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, Fredric's Ataxia, etc. There is a list of approximately 35 customers/clients awaiting admission to our facility. Our customers are willing to wait for years to have the opportunity to live in a home with a level of independence they had long ago thought was lost.

What We Do: Beechwood Home has a niche in the neurologically impaired community. There are only two other facilities in the United States that can be compared to ours, in Philadelphia and in Boston. These homes are instrumental in serving the same type of disease population as we do; a very young population, need for specialized equipment due to their immobility and progression of their diseases, uniquely experienced, trained and knowledgeable medical staff with experience in working with the (non elderly or pediatric population). We are not a nursing home but a "home for our residents" to extend and improve their quality of life and not one to await decline and death. Most Long-Term Care Facilities' average occupancy rate is 80-85% where ours is almost always at 97-100%. Our challenge is how do we become the "best of the best", become recognized as a regional/national leader in our area of expertise and bring our services to those who wait patiently.

How You Can Help: Beechwood is a home primarily for people with a variety of neurological conditions, most of which are degenerative and incurable. Beechwood strives to provide the highest level of care possible to enable our residents the optimum quality of life and allow them to retain as much independence and dignity as possible. To do this, we must provide expensive high-tech equipment, training, and maintenance. In the past, we have relied on funding from Medicaid or other third-party payors.

This requires many hours of documentation and justifications.

We were faced with a potential decrease in Medicaid funding in 2018, in fact, our current reimbursement is the same today as it was in 2003. This financial detriment has had a definite impact on the amount of dollars we need to care for the residents. This year, because our residents rely on the generosity of others to provide special therapeutic programs and services, we need your support more than ever. The need is to sustain our Program’s and services for our residents mean finding opportunities to fill this a gap of over $120.00 per day per Medicaid resident, which causes this vital need for help from our Friends of Beechwood!

CANCER FAMILY CARE Who We Are: Cancer Family Care is a nonprofit organization that helps children and adults cope with the effects of a cancer diagnosis in the family. We are known throughout the Greater Cincinnati region as a force of compassion and strength in the face of cancer-related illness and loss.

Additional services include free wigs, therapeutic massage and Healing Touch sessions for cancer patients and at reduced rates to caregivers. Our programs are available at six area offices, and to ensure continuity of care, our social workers and counselors are glad to make house calls, when necessary. Our Treehouse Children’s Program is schoolbased and offers both individual and group therapy for children and teens ages 5-18.

What We Do: Cancer Family Care provides individual, couple and family counseling to anyone affected by a cancer diagnosis or loss from the disease. Our therapists are all Master’s Level trained social workers and counselors. We also offer free wigs, oncology massage and Healing Touch to cancer patients and at a reduced rate to caregivers. Our Treehouse Children’s Program includes individual and group therapy in addition to Camp Courage, our day camp for children dealing with cancer or a cancer loss in the family.

How You Can Help: Our Treehouse Children’s Program is offered at no charge. Our adult counseling program does bill insurance if appropriate and co-pays are on a sliding fee basis if clients are able to pay. No one is ever turned away due lack of insurance coverage or ability to pay co-payments. The number one stressor for those dealing with cancer is finances. Because of United Way funding and our generous donors, we are able to help families deal with the added stress without incurring more financial hardships caused by counseling fees.

Why We’re Important: Over the next decade, the number of new cancer cases is expected to go up, mostly because of an aging population. Because cancer patients overall are living longer, the number of cancer survivors is expected to go up from about 11.7 million in 2007 to 18 million by 2020. People who have cancer may find the physical, emotional, and social effects of the disease to be stressful. People who are able to use effective coping strategies to deal with stress, such as relaxation and stress management techniques, have been shown to have lower levels of depression, anxiety, and symptoms related to the cancer and its treatment.

What We Do: The wine festival is made up of four prominent events: winery dinners, grand tastings with a special tasting room and silent auction, a charity auction and luncheon in March each year, and the Russ Wiles Memorial Golf Tournament each June. CONGREGATION OF DIVINE PROVIDENCE Who We Are: The Congregation of Divine Providence is a community of Religious Sisters founded in 1762 in France for the education of women and children in poor, neglected areas. The Sisters came to Newport, Kentucky in 1889. Currently they serve in six states. The mission of the Sisters of Divine Providence is to be living witnesses God’s loving care for everyone. This is done primarily through education and by addressing the unmet physical and spiritual needs of individuals and groups.

How We Serve the Community: Sisters live and work in the inner city, interact with residents of senior housing complexes, are involved in healthcare, parish ministry, education, and programs that serve those in need. They bring people together, listen, and pray. In the Greater Cincinnati area, El Centro de la Divina Providencia provides individualized classes in the English language.

The sisters make known needs of others and are advocates for those most in need of assistance.

What We Do: The Sisters teach in elementary, secondary and college classrooms with special concern for inner-city schools and provide English as a Second Language classes.

They work in healthcare, social work and in pastoral ministry in parishes. They reach out to minority communities, immigrants, refugees, the elderly, poor families, the sick and the dying. They serve in food pantries and provide pastoral care in hospitals, nursing facilities and individual homes.

Members of an international congregation, the Sisters share information about the poor and forgotten across the globe especially the people of Madagascar. They are committed to peace and justice in our world.

Why We’re Important: Cincinnati has one of the highest childhood poverty rates in the nation. The impact of that is reflected in DePaul Cristo Rey students who live with financial scarcity, food insecurity, neighborhood violence, and even homelessness; our school is their chance for a better future. What We Do: Girls on the Run (GOTR) Greater Cincinnati is a physical activity-based positive youth development (PYD) program that is designed to enhance girls’ social, psychological and physical skills and behaviors to successfully navigate life experiences. The program’s intentional curriculum places an emphasis on developing competence, confidence, connection, character, caring, and contribution in young girls through lessons that incorporate running and other physical activities. The life skills curriculum is delivered by caring and competent coaches who are trained to teach lessons as intended. Locally, we serve 3,000 girls per year in 11 counties throughout the region.

Our program costs $160 per girl, including curriculum materials, running shoes, a t-shirt, healthy snack at each lesson, and 5K experience. THE HEALTHCARE CONNECTION Who We Are: Established in 1967, The HealthCare Connection (formerly the Lincoln Heights Health Center) was the very first community health center in the state of Ohio. THCC was founded by Dolores J. Lindsay, a health activist, in a four room apartment house with a $10,000 grant from the Village of Lincoln Heights. She, along with a handful of churches, volunteer physicians and dentists, pooled their resources and established a medical home that would provide prenatal, pediatric and dental care services for patients who had nowhere else to get the medical care they needed. Today, THCC has 8 locations including the Lincoln Heights Health Center, the Mt. Healthy Family Practice Center, the Forest Park Health Center, 3 Co-locations with Greater Cincinnati Behavioral Health Services and the Central Community Health Board and 2 Princeton Viking School Based Health Centers.

HENRY HOSEA HOUSE Who We Are: Marking 26 years of service to the northern Kentucky/greater Cincinnati area, the mission of Henry Hosea House continues to focus on the provision of food and nourishment to the bodies and souls of the men, women and children of this great community.

Founded by Sister Mar y Dorgan, CDP in the Fellowship Hall of the First Church of the Nazarene in 1991, Henry Hosea House was built on bringing the northern Kentucky/Cincinnati communities together to serve the needy, elderly and homeless. We are the “soup kitchen” that serves full, hot and nutritious meals, seven days a week (200 plus meals per evening.) In addition to our meals, we reach out to the less fortunate by partnering with community members to create Thanksgiving Food Baskets as well as a Christmas Adopt-A-Family program.

How We Serve the Community: None of what we do would be possible without the support of more than 300 dedicated volunteers. Feeding 200 people each and every day is a daunting task, especially at times of the year when many of our diners come through our door damp and chilled. We offer these folks, whose best day is a trying one, a delicious meal, prepared with love and served with dignity in an atmosphere of hospitality and relaxation.

Those who arrive are never asked to sign in, register, present identification, or pay a single penny. They simply come in and enjoy a full, hot nutritious meal. Only God’s grace and His amazing angels bring this to reality.

Who We Are: JDRF is the leading global organization funding type 1 diabetes (T1D) research. The strength of JDRF lies in an exclusive focus and singular influence on the worldwide effort to end T1D. JDRF Southwest Ohio serves a 43-county territory covering Cincinnati, Dayton, northern Kentucky and southeast Indiana and an estimated 30,800 individuals living with T1D. A 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, JDRF is one of the nation’s most efficient nonprofits, with over 80 cents of every dollar contributed going directly to the organizational mission.

How We Serve the Community: The annual JDRF Southwest Ohio TypeOneNation Summit is a free community education conference which attracts 1,400 registrants and is the biggest in the nation across all other JDRF chapters. Other community outreach activities occur throughout the year in an effort to help improve outcomes for people living with type 1 diabetes, as well as to educate those who are unaware of the disease of the warning signs and symptoms. The chapter also has a formal Youth Ambassador program, which empowers young people with T1D to raise their voice and share their stories of overcoming the challenges of living with diabetes. Part of the Youth Ambassador initiative is the JDRF Advocacy program.

What We Do: JDRF Southwest Ohio hosts a variety of community outreach and fundraising events annually to raise money to fund life-changing T1D research. The chapter’s marquee events are the Cincinnatian of the Year Gala held each year in May, which last year raised a record $1.45M, the One Walk program raising nearly $1M and the Ride to Cure Diabetes Program which raises over $500K. Other events include the Dayton Gala, Bourbon & Bowtie Bash, and other community events throughout the year.

How You Can Help: JDRF Southwest Ohio has recently realized unprecedented success, achieving new overall chapter fundraising records for the past two consecutive years. This success would not be possible without the incredible grassroots support of community volunteers, including both those with a T1D connection and those without. Why We’re Important: JDRF was founded in 1970 as a grassroots movement by parents of children with T1D. The mission of JDRF is to not only fund research to improve lives of those living with T1D, and to ultimately find a cure, but to also build awareness of the disease.

Half of new T1D diagnoses are in adults, and 80% of the overall T1D population is comprised of adults. T1D is an autoimmune disease in which a person’s pancreas stops producing insulin, a hormone people need to get energy from food. T1D can strike anyone at any age at any time and has nothing to do with diet or lifestyle.

The Josh Cares mission is to provide companionship and comfort to children hospitalized in critical and chronic care units in children’s hospitals. LA SOUPE, INC Who We Are: La Soupe’s mission is to bridge the gap between food waste and hunger by rescuing otherwise discarded produce to create delicious and highly-nutritious meals for customers, non-profits and food-insecure families.

Our non-profit organization, established in 2015, rescues perishable food from 24 partners every week and donates over 85% of our soupe production to 47 agencies spanning Hamilton, Clermont, and Adams counties. La Soupe has been nationally recognized as an innovator in food waste reduction and poverty alleviation.

We provide financial assistance and the most advanced, proven medical techniques for invitro fertilization. Our candidates are deserving married couples, facing infertility. They all hail from the Cincinnati- area. These couples do not have coverage for the very expensive invitro process through health insurance providers, nor do they have the financial resources for the IVF procedures. They do have the financial means to clothe, educate and care for a child. We choose couples who will make wonderful parents. We also encourage the alternatives of foster parenting and adoption, if in the small number of cases where the two cycles of invitro fertilization that we provide do not create a take home baby.

MAGNIFIED GIVING Who We Are: Magnified Giving is a 501 © 3 educational organization founded in 2008 by Roger Grein, a recognized leader in the philanthropic community. Our mission is to educate, inspire and engage students in philanthropy, and to touch the hearts and minds of teens, lighten the concern of others, and magnify the impact of philanthropy. What We Do: Magnified Giving partners with schools and provides a philanthropy training curriculum that engages students in the process of identif ying and assessing a broad range of charitable organizations and directly engaging with local charities. As the process concludes, the students select a charity to receive a grant from Magnified Giving. The grants are awarded in a series of ceremonies that provide the students an opportunity to be a witness to what they have learned and experienced, and to hear how the grant they have awarded will impact the lives of others.

How You Can Help: Magnified Giving helps our student participants understand that they are called to share their time, talent and treasure with others. We need the time, talent and treasure of our community to support our impactful student philanthropy program. Who We Are: Master Provisions serves God by connecting resources to needs. We make vital resources available to nonprofits in Greater Cincinnati who directly serve people living in crisis. We also work collaboratively using our resources to help other nonprofits achieve their missions.

For example, we use our trucks and knowledge of logistics to transport goods for organizations like Sweet Cheeks Diaper Bank and Crossroads Church. We also share our facility: Go Pantry comes on-site to pack food for school children during weekends and school breaks. And, La Soupe receives food from Master Provisions and stores its finished product in our cold storage unit.

Thousands of individuals and groups volunteer at Master Provisions each year, donating 22,670 hours in 2017. Our Board members are active business and community leaders from throughout Greater Cincinnati.

How We Serve the Community: Over 150 nonprofit groups received food from Master Provisions last year, including soup kitchens, neighborhood food pantries, and shelters. Partnering with Isaiah House, Master Provisions delivers food and logistical support for mobile food pantries in Covington and Ludlow, Kentucky, on the last Saturday of each month. These programs aid over 600 families monthly. Master Provisions also operates a social enterprise making freight deliveries for local businesses. The enterprise earns some revenue to support our core mission, offers parttime work to truck drivers, and helps some drivers prepare for transition to employment with local logistics firms.

What We Do: Master Provisions receives donations of surplus food from area wholesalers, manages these resources, and distributes them to organizations who feed the hungry.

We also provide high-quality used clothing and shoes to partner organizations locally, in Appalachia, and to some mission partners overseas. We support care of orphaned and neglected children in Togo and Ukraine, and education for impoverished in Guatemala. Each year, we also lead groups on short-term international mission trips.

Why We’re Important: Master Provisions rescues surplus products to help people in need. We pick up fresh fruits, vegetables, dairy products and bread that formerly went to the landfill. We distribute food to groups whose core mission is feeding these people.

MATTHEW 25: MINISTRIES Who We Are: Matthew 25: Ministries is an international humanitarian aid and disaster relief organization helping the poorest of the poor and disaster victims locally, nationally and internationally regardless of race, creed or political persuasion. Matthew 25 provides food to the hungry, water to the thirsty, clothing to the naked, shelter to the homeless, medical care to the ill and humanitarian supplies to those in need. Additionally, Matthew 25 is committed to educating the public on the conditions and needs of the “least of these” and by providing resources for action.

How We Serve the Community: In 2016, Matthew 25: Ministries distributed more than 400,000 pounds of humanitarian aid in the Greater Cincinnati area. Products included coats and clothing, food and beverages, personal care products and medical supplies, educational kits and supplies and were distributed to food pantries and shelters, rescue and recovery houses, healthcare clinics, residential care facilities and more. Matthew 25’s Hunger Food Drive distributed 130,000 pounds of food to 47 local pantries and shelters in 2016. Matthew 25 also provides educational opportunities through the Global Village and opportunities for positive action through their volunteer program.

What We Do: By rescuing and reusing products from major corporations and manufacturers, Matthew 25: Ministries distributes more than 15,000,000 pounds of humanitarian supplies and disaster relief each year, helping approximately 20,000,000 people. Matthew 25’s Disaster Response Services provide relief, recovery and rebuilding support to areas suffering from catastrophic disasters domestically and internationally. Additionally, Matthew 25: Ministries produces or repurposes food, paint, notebooks, pencils and pill bottles, saving millions of pounds of products from the landfill. Who We Are: Beginning with a vision to serve the most needy with top quality care and services, Mentoring Plus was founded in April of 2009 by several lifelong residents of Northern Kentucky. Our mission is to empower disadvantaged youth and their families to fulfill their potential and to contribute to the well-being of the community by forming relationships based on mutual trust, compassion, and respect.

Our sitebased model gives youth and mentors a highly structured program, with meals, life skills instruction, recreation activities, and tutoring assistance. This unusual model gives volunteers and youth a safe place to spend time, with constant guidance and support of staff. They can focus on the relationship, not the logistics.

Why We’re Important: Imagine a wheel with a hub and five spokes. Mentoring Plus is the hub: the spokes are the patchwork of community systems serving youth and families. And the space between? Who We Are: Incorporated in 1975, People Working Cooperatively (PWC) is a non-profit organization dedicated to serving low-income, seniors, and homeowners with disabilities in 20 counties of Southwestern Ohio, Northern Kentucky, and Indiana. In the last 43 years, PWC’s staff of licensed, trained employees and dedicated corps of 4,500 volunteers have assisted more than 310,000 individuals to keep them safely in their homes, where they desperately want to be.

RIDE CINCINNATI Who We Are: Ride Cincinnati is one of the region’s largest non-competitive cycling events, offering events for participants of all abilities who are united in a single mission: to defeat cancer. All proceeds benefit cancer research at the UC Health Barret Cancer Center.

The 2018 ride features a two-day experience happening June 9-10, 2018. Courses leave from Yeatman’s Cove and include distances ranging from 8 to 100 miles.

SISTERS OF NOTRE DAME DE NAMUR Who we are: The Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur participate in a worldwide mission to spread the goodness of God beyond the boundaries of nation, state and tribe.

Following the call of Jesus as he reveals himself in the Gospels, we live simply and joyously in the footsteps of St. Julie Billiart, our founder. We place a special emphasis on education, especially of women and children who are poor.

The Ohio Province is the oldest of the Sisters’ American provinces. It was established in 1840 when we were asked to establish schools for immigrants in Cincinnati and surrounding cities.

How We Serve The Community: Since our beginnings in Cincinnati over 175 years ago, Sisters of Notre Dame have sought to uplift people who are, or who are in danger of becoming, marginalized. In the 1840s, our work was with impoverished immigrants. Later it was with freed slaves.

Still later, it was with people who were hearing-impaired. To this day, we continue to serve the community by working with those with few skills or little education, or who are battling addiction, or who are homeless – to give them what they need for life, and to show them the goodness of God. SPRINGER SCHOOL AND CENTER Who we are: Springer School and Center provides the only school in the region devoted entirely to the education of children with learning disabilities (LD).

Through its outreach programs, parents and professionals develop an understanding of learning disabilities and the most effective means to address them. The day school serves 200 students in grades 1-8, with a teacher-tostudent ratio of 1:6. The school features research-based curriculum, specially designed for children with learning disabilities. Springer’s center builds learning potential – one student, one parent, one educator at a time, through community outreach programs.

Who We Are: Stepping Stones is a place, a program and a team of people you can trust to meet the needs of Greater Cincinnati’s children, teens and adults with disabilities and their families. We are a United Way partner agency serving more than 1,000 people with disabilities in day and overnight programs that increase independence and promote individual success.
