DRY NEWSPAPER

MIXED WITH WATER

DRAINED FROM WATER

NEWSPAPER IS SOAKED IN PLENTY OF WATER OVERNIGHT. AFTER THAT THEY ARE MIXED/BLENDED . THAT ENSURES THE FIBRES WITHIN THE NEWSPAPER ARE SEPERATED FROM EACH OTHER. THE MIXTURE IS THEN DRAINED AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE FROM MOST OF THE WATER. THE RESULTANT PRODUCT IS A PAPER MATERIAL, WHICH IS READY TO BE TURNED INTO PAPER PULP. THE RESULTANT PAPER MATERIAL HAS A RATIO OF 1 PART OF NEWSPAPER TO 3 PARTS OF WATER.

PHYSICAL STUDIES

The hyperbolic geometry has been triangulated and lasercut into flat triangular planes. The flexible joint allows for the form as whole to transform. The pictures show attempts of spatial quality investigations through the usage of a site model and a number of flexible hyperbolic geometries.

CONSTUCTION SCENARIO DIAGRAM

The assumed construction scenario would involve a utilization of a triangulated modular mould. It has been demostrated earlier that a hyperbolic geometry can be triangulated and seperated into individuals modules, when these modules are attached with a flexible join the form as a whole can transform. The same principle is applied to the construction scenario in general. The whole structure once triangulated can re-use the same modular moulds to create a vastly diverse forms. The ridges, serving both the structural and design purposes are assumed to be made using a flexible material (such as rubber or silicone). Because of their flexibility, with combination of the triangulated modules, they can be use to accomodate the fabrication of various forms. Paper pulp is assumed to be then applied to the combined triangulated mould and the square-profile ridges resulting in a seamless, one-piece structure.
